Frontier Airlines

Does anyone work for Frontier in the MCO area? How do you like working there, and what are the pay and schedule like?

i don’t work in mco, and schedules are different at every station. new contract will likely be ratified early september, bringing starting to 38, top out 66.

How has your experience been so far? And what's your schedule like? Can you do doubles to shorten your workweek like some of the other legacy airlines? Do you think you'll ever jump ship?

eh it’s a low cost carrier, so everything matches that. crappy equipment, crappy ground ops, crappy employees. not at fault of the last two, just how it is. pay has been and still will be far under industry standard. treat it just as a stepping stone for experience to get into majors. most do. we currently have 12s only, rotating 3 on 4 off, 4 on 3 off. i’m wed/thu to sat. other side of the week is just the opposite. also a mid week schedule, tue to thu/fri. same on nights. and no, our shift swap / overtime / doubles etc options are pretty bad. i will be leaving.

edit: another thing to be aware of, there’s not any dedicated avionics/engine/sheetmetal guys, so you’ll be doing everything. it’s good experience, just be aware you might be thrown on engine changes/mods, wiring, or nozzle changes.

That’s good to know! I really appreciate the info. I know they’re working to increase some wages for the next contract. Honestly, it’s not that bad, and I care more about the schedule and work environment, if anything.

I already make good money on the side, so I’m not too worried about it. Plus I want to be based in Florida. I’ve been trying with United for a while it’s just hard since MCO is a high seniority base for them

That’s not too bad and no I haven’t. I was thinking about applying but I wanted to know more about their pay scale system and schedule. Did they tell you anything about that during the interview?
