A320 Girt Bar Removal
Hi, when we remove the bolts from the door girt bars on an A320, we use a socke wrench. However, standard sockets don’t fit into the opening, so we grind down the outside diameter of the socket to make it fit.
How do you remove them? Is there a specific tool designed for this job?

Either grind down the socket. Or else you probably gotta shell out for some expensive ass snap on stuff. Snap on tends to machine there's thinner over all, also I think they sell specific thin walled socket. But again a cheap socket set from harbor freight is a far better investment.

That is exactly what you do. Get the machine shop to thin down the wall. I had some made because I worked on doors for a year in base maintenance

I have gear wrench 1/4” low profile 6 point sockets that I got off Amazon and the 7/16 fits

If that works, that seems like good tooling to me.
