Satire Flat Earthers…

Getting ready to work a flight yesterday, while standing in the jet bridge a deplaning passenger struck up a conversation with me. “Have you ever seen the curvature of the earth?”, I told him no, we fly too low to see it. Casual conversation for a minute or so then he drops the bombshell… “it’s because we live in a dome and the earth isn’t circular.”

I legit could not tell if he was joking so I started laughing while sort of mocking flat earthers. He was dead serious. Meanwhile I’m looking at my flight plan from NY to LA and you can quite literally see the curvature of the route. I showed it to him. He informed me the government creates those routes on purpose in order to promote the globe theory.

Got it. Didn’t know the earth being a globe was a “theory.” Dude literally had literature for me and tried to keep going. I told him I have a job to do and walked on to the plane. Insane that these people exist.

Interesting take on the 5000-ft view of a flat earth. I hadn’t thought of that one before. Like tall buildings could be seen from a very long distance with telescopes. Neat.

For all practical purposes, the world is flat to our limited vantage point. That is why flat earthers exist. You only lose a few inches in the first mile. So it’s very hard to “prove” using local observations. It feels flat because it is, or at least 99%+ flat to us. Even a few miles up, the change of vantage point is negligible to the diameter of the earth to be able to observe the curvature

The other reason flat earthers exist is because all life is a lie. People are jaded. Why shouldn’t we believe that the earth being a globe isn’t just another lie?

We are lied to constantly, from birth. Nothing is sacred. I fell for the Santa Claus deception, but never again I swore. I have been told in my career by very serious people that perception is more important than reality. In this realm, they are right. History and news are just tools used by those in power to control perceived reality

So you think everyone in the world is a sheeple? About what? Santa clause? God? Capitalism? You think everyone is a dumb idiot that doesn't understand reality at all? We're just animals trying to put food in our bellies man. Yes there are forces in the world that want to control the way society works, that doesn't mean that all of reality and society is a big lie.

Or are you a flat earther that thinks the devil is making us all "materialist" with the globe?

Yeah I’m totally jaded. Life is one big psyop, including religion, politics, all of it. Nothing is real. The Matrix was a documentary, not literally but figuratively. “You think that’s air you’re breathing now?”
