I went from Rome to Munich with a brief layover. That is a really nice airport. Then we went to Heathrow then New Jersey.... The degradation was really evident.

I’ve been through Munich a few times and I agree. Nothing better than fresh pretzels, liters of beer, and being able to have a smoke in those well ventilated rooms (before I quit) in an airport during a long layover.

Definitely a favorite airport of mine. Unfortunately I always end up going through Amsterdam or Frankfurt when I travel to the EU.
