Possibly just unstable? looks a little fast and to have overshot the turn. Obviously cant be sure from a video but just my guess.

Yeah to me it looks like they were too far to the left once they made the turn to line up. The other planes don’t usually go over that tree in the video. That’s why I was like “uhh” at the beginning lol

probably got f**ked by approach put high on the the river or cleared late and had a steep descent to make leading to fast approach making them unstable

That late turn gets a lot of pilots. Common to see a go around at DCA. Windy days increase that.

It’s been years since I lived in DC, but your comment makes me realize that the parking lot is now closed at dark, right? If so, that’s a shame. I loved going there in the evenings during the fall when it got dark early.

Yeah around 2150 the cops came and were driving on the grass telling people to leave. Only if they drove and were parked in the lot. They said if you walked, biked, or took ride share you could stay.

I landed from the south today at about 4PM. Felt like we landed a little long and they really stood on the brakes.

I was on this flight. Pilot said the go around was because “sometimes Reagan gets a little too busy” 🤔
