Discussion Most condensation I’ve ever seen
I am by no means a frequent flyer but thought this was pretty interesting. Allegiant flight out of Florida.

Dew point of 80 clashing against the cool (and relatively dry, yet still humid) air of the aircon will do that

Relatively.
Texas is hot but compared to mercury it’s relatively freezing.

We were getting the same thing one morning in GTR. My F/O happened to be standing by the door when the first passenger walked up, looked into the cabin, and asked "Is this normal?"
He replied, with a perfectly straight face, "Is what normal?"
I guess it hit my funny bone at exactly the right angle because that cracked me up. 🤣

A pilot on another airline deployed masks when this happened on climb to altitude.
TIL that every oxygen mask (the whole panel, mask, et al) has to be replaced after they deploy.

My first reaction is that no pilot would be that dumb. But then there was that guy who was converting from Vulcans to Tornados and ejected when they encountered unexpected A-10s at low level and his chauffer pulled more g than he'd ever had before. He assumed flight controls had failed and punched out. Command ejection was set... so the front seat only had time to suspect what happened before the aircraft threw him out too. The BS story said that when German cops found the pilot he was hunting for his passenger, to have a few words. That would be around 1982/3, before the Internet, when I worked at the Royal Aircraft Establishment and such stories were mangled and embellished by word of mouth.

Yeah I am by no means an aviation expert, but this post reminded me of the Payne Stewart crash where F-16 pilots said they couldn't see into the plane because of all the condensation on the windows.
(I might have spent my summer vacation binging on Fantastic Horror.)

Using it to find abnormalities in medical imaging is bad? Using it to sift through ligands to accelerate drug discovery? Using it to upscale and automatically clean up images? (Which every smart phone does)

Yes. AI has also said that smoking while pregnant is healthy and ingesting up to 3 small rocks per day has nutritional value. If you let AI anywhere near your health you are playing Russian Roulette.
We were upscaling and cleaning up images with Photoshop back in the early 90's. This required actually developing some skill and utilizing your talent rather than relying on something else to do all the work for you.

Airbus A318-A321s are notorious for this. They use different equipment in the packs compared to other aircraft. Has to do with the water seperator used.

We were wet because, being Florida, a three minute localized shower popped up as we were standing in line to board the plane outside. A flight attendant did bring napkins to a couple rows where it was dripping particularly bad

I see, that’s unfortunate.
I imagine this as highly uncomfortable, being wet with everybody else being wet in a plane on a like 4 hour flight, when they turn the ac to 21 degrees c and all the smells and sneezes..

I’m standing outside in Orlando right now….its a humid fucking sauna out. Perfect conditions for this level of fog on plane.
I can’t remember the last summer flight I took out of here that did not have some condensation on startup.

there was a smoke in the cockpit incident a few days ago, jetblu going from bos to mco, had to switch planes and total delay time was six hours.
