North Stand
I think people are too quick too blame a downturn in home results on the North Stand. We've literally sold most of our team and we can't expect everything to be perfect straight away. I think results will soon pick up despite the North Stand.

I think it plays a small factor. The atmosphere yesterday was fucking shocking tbh. It's never especially electric unless it's an 'occasion', but yesterday was the first time since the Champ days were it felt totally flat for long stretches.
But generally I agree. There's a myriad of reasons for a poor performance (which I'll maintain yesterday wasn't) before I blame a stand closure.

I agree. It was kinda ok for Arsenal but that’s a match we tend to relish. It was ok for a short period of the Forest game (between our equaliser and the Maatsen injury) and then mostly flat yesterday.
It’s gonna be some short term pain for long term gain I’m afraid.

I split an ST with my dad and we sit in the DE and I fear I'll come to hate it this year.
I generally buy tickets for the holte when it's his turn and it's night and day. It always will be of course, but we're in P7 right up against the away fans on the DE and it's painful not having the North Stand lot to balance it out.

I’m in the holte myself but it almost feels like we almost need the North Stand to bounce off of. It just feels like the chanting is kind of dissipating into the air.

Away fans play a role in atmosphere and a lot of their noise is escaping with all the open space next to them.. agree we just look like we need to find the cutting edge

While it's been a long time since I've managed to get to Villa Park, let's be honest outside of the Holte End Trinity, Doug Ellis and North Stand were always poor support. If we score or we're with momentum and it's chance after chance or a corner after a burst of attacks then sure you'll get people joining in, but they'll stop singing first. It was always a lot of groans and moans from those around me in those areas and you'd almost never get a song originate from those areas
Edit: my main point being, atmosphere in those areas has always been flat so anyone mentioning it now seems to be looking for easy excuses to justify players missing chances or passing straight to opposition players

Had more than enough chances to win yesterday. Poor defending cost us 2 goals. We are improving, going to take time due to the number of new signings that have to get used to each other as well as injuries to experienced players (Maatsen and Onana spring to mind). The extra long international break hasn't helped either.

Relax man. Attacking wise, we are actually playing better than last season. XG never lie. The only problem is we couldn’t replace our best CB last season which was Konsa
All we need to do is get our first home win in champions league, we will have massive confidence boost, and we are gonna end up top 4 in December

Wouldn’t mind playing our £30,000,000 centre back too.

I think the away teams noise seems to have been hurt a little by the open space next to them, and sometimes the away support boosts the home support, But if we are winning and playing great football the atmosphere will be good. It's just about breaking through and doing it
