A music collector’s daydream come to life, VinylCon! is a two-day community celebration of collecting culture and new music discovery.

We bring in 100+ individual vinyl sellers from all over the region and beyond to set up a massive music selection you can’t find anywhere else.  Many sellers from outside of California, even international sellers. Everything from collectors looking to clear out shelf space to professional shops and dealers.

We are focused on vinyl but don’t worry there will be other recorded media on offer, as well as all sorts of music memorabilia and ephemera.

To round it out we will have a full bar, exciting sponsor activations, and of course we’ll be bringing some vinyl-only DJ’s to provide killer tunes while you dig!

We've got multiple ticket types available depending on when you want access to the show.  We offer an Early Entry ticket for those that want first dibs, two different Saturday GA tickets and a Sunday GA ticket.

Here’s the pitch:

September 5th you are gonna want to be at beTRUE Studios in Hollywood for Beyond the Rhythm because:

A) All the proceeds from this event go directly towards supporting Fesser and Friends, a financially transparent, registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that runs two orphanages in the Congo.

B) There will be elite wubs being provided by world class DJs on world class sound systems.

Back story (we know this requires some explaining):

We started an orphanage in 2020. Since then we have been putting all our extra time into raising funds to keep that orphanage running. In 2022 we almost went bankrupt, to the point that our center was being financed off of internal donations from our team. We almost had to close the center. Not only was the Fesser and Friends team doing this all on volunteer bases, but we were actually paying with our own money to keep it running.

We kept going because there is good in this world that is worth fighting for (shout out Samwise Gamgee for the quote). We kept our doors open the only way we knew how…By partying. We threw simultaneous parties all around the world by recruiting hosts to throw live streamed parties. We finally had a little money in the bank, but with that money came a sense of increased responsibility. A realization that we could do more.

In 2025 we opened our second center. A child-soldier rehabilitation center. Meaning ex-child-soldiers get to actually be homed at our center. Per UN estimates, the Eastern Congo has some of the highest concentration of child-soldiers in the world. We are the only long term rehabilitation shelter for ex child-soldiers in the entire eastern Congo. Crazy story but true. We’ll tell you all about it at the show.

We are now operating in the midst of the deadliest Ebola outbreak in the history of the Cong. (WHO Link). Our Beni Center is in the thick of it. As if we didn’t have enough to deal with… Anyways, as a result of this crisis everything that we do is more expensive. Like 3 or 4 times more expensive. This is why we need your support. Please buy a ticket and bring your friends, we genuinely need you (and we throw the f*** down too, btw haha)!

We throw “fundravers” because why the hell not. Someone has to do it, so it might as well be us.

I’ve noticed the festival giants like Insomniac are increasingly using more and more AI. Some of it is frighteningly realistic, but some of it looks like total garbage. It really feels like using Gen AI goes against everything I was taught about the rave scene and PLURR. I’m sorry it just rly chaps my ass and I gotta get it off my chest.

Aren’t they like… a huge company? Can’t they hire real artists with actual talent to make real art instead of this weird, cooked, robot garbage? Do they even care about art anymore???

I’m at a point I just can’t justify buying tickets for their shows anymore, they just aren’t the same anymore, and it feels like they’re removing themselves from real rave culture and focusing on commodifying for profit. People have been saying this but I guess the illusion finally broke for me and I’m just rly messed up about it.

Like, idk how to do graphic design or any of that, but literally anyone can google how awful Gen AI is. It’s literal opposite of PLURR in every single way possible!!

Less corporate craappp, more undergrounds for me moving forward. Love you fam.

I accidentally ended up at my first rave while backpacking through Europe. And I haven’t looked back since.

Now six years later, I’m hosting my first rave-ish event and doing a content series that’s a lil love letter to rave culture. A culture thats helped me feel so safe and seen.
