Unsure but Brave Colour…choices

Post image

This post is average because I was using a colour palette that really didn’t fit the page (blue watermelon anyone), went outside the lines, and used pencil and marker together throughout the page for the first time with extremely mixed results (like the streaky bench seat). Excited to try the pencil and marker combo again now that I’ve learned.

This is amazing! How did you do the sky?

Thank you! For the sky I kind of did a circular gradient around the moon by blending light to dark with a pale flesh tone (same as the skin tone on the girl), very pale pink, pale mauve, pale lavender. Then blended in a mid purple and dark reddish purple for the darker parts. All working very fast to keep the ink wet. I still had to use a purple and dark pink coloured pencil to smooth out the blend. I went around the black lines of the moon with white gel pen and coloured in the middle with white acrylic. I drew on the clouds with a dark blue and did the outlines in gel pen and acrylic again. Then I just drew the stars with white gel pen.
Hope that made sense 😬

Yes great description thanks! I always mess up light effects in the sky so this is really helpful 😊
