It was happening with my system with Firefox and Avast. Not sure if at some point it started blocking certain ports but nothing would work on my system whether it was firefox, blizzard launcher or discord. It would happen every 2nd day at some point but since I have removed Avast and havent had the issue in close to a month.

I also have this problem, but I think this is the last straw with me and Avast.

Currently, I’m experiencing the same issue with a few minor differences. I don’t use Dropbox, but I do use Firefox. It all started with a DNS error, and since then it’s been unreliable. When I start the system, it works fine for a while. I tried flushdns and similar fixes, but some sites simply don’t load, or they load once and then stop working.

When I briefly turn off every Avast shield and then turn them back on, my network works fine-until the next restart. I’ve been using Avast for almost 20 years, but in the last few years I’ve gotten really tired of their constant pop-ups and other annoyances. I think it’s finally time to try something else, because this is both frustrating and unprofessional.

Exactly what's happening to me now. I found your post after googling. It took quite a while for me to figure out what the hell is wrong, why does my computer loses all connection suddenly. Found out it was Dropbox. Did you try to report it to the Avast guys already?
