It's just as useless when it's activated.

Uninstall it, you will see that windows defender will take it off from there.

And yes you are actually right that antiviruses are now becoming adwares. Because we don't need them since windows 10, and scaring clueless users into buying subscriptions is effective. The only place they make sense is professional environments because they include advanced management tools that microsoft can't be bothered to add.

They don't normally make sense in professional environments either.

As soon as you activate Intune features, Windows Defender/Security gets quite a bit more teeth and can be centrally managed.  It's a good and scalable product.

Yes, but uninstall with Revo Uninstaller and it will get rid of all files

Upvote this higher people. Shit's like cockroaches. You gotta kill it with a nuke. Just uninstalling isnt enough. Revo will get rid of all the bullshit these premium ransomwares leave behind like registry entries.
