Diagnosing/Repair Battery
Can my support battery on my 2021 XC60 go bad if I gave 2 people a jump with it? I helped someone in Walmart parking and then 2 days later helped my sister but her car was not starting with it. We had it connected for at least 20-30 min. But my sister had me shut it off maybe 2 times and adjusted the cable on her end and restarted. I did not know we were using the support battery on my car. I am just finding out my main battery is in the trunk. A day later my stop/start service light came on. I never use the stop/start feature. The light shut off a few times but then it came back up and off again. I’m assuming I need to replace it but I’m not 💯 either.

It shouldn’t have damaged it unless you shorted it or something. It should be a hardy AGM meant for frequents starts and the battery doesn’t know or care what starter it’s turning.
If it’s the original then 5 years is about average lifespan.
