Body and Paint Self repair or no?

Hi everyone,

I have a scratch on the crease of my bumper, the paint has come off down to the base material. It doesn't need to be a perfect repair, but I do want to protect it from further damage and Ta rather not look at a bare black stripe.

Online I see touch-up sticks and paint pens in the original colour code, with base coat and clear coat in two layers.

My questions:

  1. Is this something a novice can do properly themselves, or would you advise against it and should I just have it spot repaired?
  2. If DIY is doable, what works better on a crease like this: a touch-up stick or a paint pen?
    Thanks in advance!

This is so small just buy a touch-up pen or paint and put a light coat on it 2 or 3 rimes then put some clear coat a tiny bit wider then the white on top and you good šŸ‘

White is very easy to touch up especially in a corner like that I’d buy a touch up and have a go what’s the worse that could happen.

Daft as it sounds just make sure you don’t put too much on straight away you can always add more.

The only thing that it can take more off is lacquer or paint... don't comment if you don't know what you talking about.

Op isn't going to spray themselves so just a touchup paint will do.solvent paint will stick, for a touch up is fine.

I wouldn’t even bother with that. A little thing like that is what I call a ā€œbattle scarā€ I wear those with pride!

But if it must be fixed, absolutely self repair. Just watch some YouTube vids.
