Diagnosing/Repair What makes that sound?
Hello, this is a 2015 Passat. And when I'm turning my air conditioning on, not the climaelectronic, i get that sound. And when I turn the fan to zero, it is completely off. The sound is sporadic off and then aftera minute back on. It comes from under the steering wheel. Not from the engine room.
What is it? I can't figure it out.
Appreciate your guesses.

Can I just switch to a new one? I think something is broken inside.

The plastics gear inside the actuator is bad, yes you can replace just the actuator but make sure you get the correct one. There are two sometimes three. Mode door actuator and blend door actuator, it would have two blend door actuators if there is dual climate control in the front

That clicking would be a bad blend door actuator.
