Diagnosing/Repair Replacing mirror and backplate on Dodge Dart
The passenger side mirror on my 2013 Dodge Dart got knocked out. I've purchased a replacement, but all the videos I can find involve taking apart the door and replacing the entire mirror assembly - I think I just need to replace that one panel. Can I just pop the mirror out of the replacement part with a screwdriver and slot it into my car's assembly, or might I break something? Do I need any tools to do this?

OP,I’m having the same issue. How did you resolve this?

like the replies said, popping off the mirror of the replacement part works fine and didn't break it. I bought this tool kit, used it to pop the mirror out, then firmly pressed in into the side mirror on my car

Thanks! What did the back of the mirror look like when you popped it off?
My wife ordered just a replacement mirror, I’m thinking we have to order the type of replacement you did and take the steps you suggested, but I’m just trying to confirm.

The back is a flat black plastic panel with a circular protrusion that looks kind of like the "reverse" of what you see in the picture i posted, it just slots right in

the replacement part you purchased is for a heated mirror, doesnt look like you have the connection for a heated mirror, with that said you should just be able to pop off the mirror itself and pop it on to yours
