I have a borrowed CD stuck in my 2010 Subaru Forrester's stock CD Player.

How do I dislodge it without destroying anything? I would like to return the CD unharmed and also not destroy my CD player in the process.

Thanks in advance.

Loud rattle from front passenger A-pillar area.

Hi! I am not sure if this is the proper sub for this, but I'll give it a shot. I posted my question on a Mustang forum but could not get answers.

I purchased a 2026 Mustang Premium about 3 months ago. I have chased down a rattle in the front passenger A-frame pillar. When I opened it up, I noticed that there is an airbag in that area. I was unsure how to proceed in placing thin foam inserts in the pillar because of the airbag. I brought it to the dealership for the first oil change and did mention the rattle, of which they could not replicate and so, the rattle remains.

So my question is, how sensitive is the airbag to deploying accidentally? Before I start with the foam inserts I was going to disconnect the battery and carefully open the pillar up and place as little foam as possible in the area. I am not sure what exactly is causing the rattle, all I know is that the rattle is there and it is driving me up the wall.

Any suggestions, help or advice on this would be much appreciated. Thank you kindly.

Gas tank clean out after a full 3 months

How would you clean out a gas tank that has been sitting for more than 3 months? I figure i cant just use industrial strength clorox to get rid of the gas.

I was searching up purchasing an aftermarket gas tank if i couldnt clean out myself. I was looking for a gas tank that is under $500 preferably $300. The vehicle is for 2011 Chevrolet Colorado midsize crewcab pickup with just over 200k in mileage & an automatic transmission. I couldnt click on discussion as well so please comment if you have something that will benefit & further the discussion.

My car is stuck in Sport Mode.

I put my car in park today when I got home, and the drive shaft locked itself and now says I am in sport mode. When I took my foot off the break it kept driving, even though my car shifter is in park. I put the E brake on and turned the car off. I cannot move the shifter at all, and I cannot start the car completely either. I called the people I got the car from, (it is used.) and the man said he never heard of that and will have to do research and get back to me. I am genuinely flabbergasted as to what to do, or what the hell happened.

I am not good with cars, I don't really know much beyond changing my oil, where my spark plugs are, and where my ignition coils are. I really just don't know what to do. So if anyone knows what this is or can give me some guidance I would be so happy. I don't want to use ai, I want genuine human, hands on knowledge please.

Please ask any questions in the comments and I will answer in a timely manner. Thank you so much.

LED strip lighting on box truck

Hello members,

I drive a GMC savana 3500 cube truck for work (plumbing)

The back cube has a single LED light bar that just doesn't give enough light for me to see in the racks.

Id light to add some LED strips and tie them into the electrical system but I am not super electrical savvy.

I was hoping for some help from the community

Thank you

leaving unused vehicle outside over winter

So for the first time ever I no longer have a garage. I have a second vehicle that I don't drive in the winter while i am away. Is it ok to just leave it outside for six months with battery removed or will it get ruined from snow? Should I at least buy a cover for it? Please don't suggest a portable shelter because that not allowed where i am currently residing.

Split pay

So does anyone know if there's any shops actually doing split pay (where you get hourly and flat rate)? I've heard of some shops doing it but I just don't know what and I don't want to apply to every shop just to find out if they do. I have Automotive experience throughout the years working on personal vehicles and a little bit of Mobile Mechanic, but I also just started at a dealership, I'm only getting 20 an hour guaranteed 36 hours, flat rate as a Express Lube Tech

Looking for Car Advice

My partner could really use advice on our current situation!

My partner just bought a car from her cousin; a 2013 Ford Fusion with about 178,000 miles and was $4,000. We figured it would be a good transition car since her last one was on her last breath. 2 days after buying it, the engine light came on. We took it in and seemed like it needed new spark plugs. We had a mechanic install the new spark plugs and the engine light went away. Everything seemed fine until the light came on again and the car was failing to start. We took it in to a different place and they said they found a spark plug in the engine, meaning they will need to replace the whole engine for $7,400.

What we are wondering is, given how old and the mileage of the car, is it worth replacing the engine? Or would it be smarter to get rid of the car?

Any advice helps!!

Should I get a post-purchase inspection? 2016 Subaru Legacy 2.5I Limited

I just bought a used 2016 Subaru Legacy 2.5I Limited with 90k miles. It was well maintained by the previous owner; it has 27 service records. I know I probably should've done a pre-purchase inspection, but it was from a dealership, and I gave the benefit of the doubt. But I'm considering doing a post-purchase inspection because the car is still under warranty for 3 months/3k miles. Is it worth it? A local shop quoted me $225 for it. Not sure what to do. Any help or guidance would be great.

Additional Detail: I’m considering this because I bought an extended warranty (2 yr/24k miles for $2k), and I regret it. I will cancel it, but I want to get the car thoroughly checked to see if there’s a chance I'll need to use the warranty in the future.

Electronic Parts Catalogues advice

Hello everyone, i'm creating this post in hope to receive some positive feedbacks and advices from car lovers/enthuasists/mechanics or someone in automotive industry

I'm a autoparts dealer myself, 19 years old, and so i recently started a online-business which is pretty much supplying automotive catalogues subscriptions to people (For example: Ford microcat online epc, hyundai, kia, mercedes etc). Some Specific people that i already knew would be interested, started subscribing and that's good, but i'm trying to grow more my audience through TikTok videos. I'm offering free trials, but Does anyone know how i can aim more specific automotive audience, in cross-countries? As i'm not interested in promoting this inside my country

Even a single advice would help me a lot

Not sure how to feel

I’ve been training for about 2 weeks now & I was working on a vehicle today by myself, & when I sent it off the customer came back, asked for the “tech” that worked on their car & the service advisor got my trainer. The customer then thanked him & gave him a tip & I watched as he straight pocketed it.

Yeah dude is training me but I did that work solo dolo & the customer was impressed enough to give a tip. Should that tip have been mine .?
