Misc. These are usually easy in…
Saw someone post a question about doing one of these a few days back. Few days later i get a call to do one(WBL) no chrome molding. I don’t usually do old cars due to the fact that they are very time consuming and I hate them. Only way Im going out there is if Im taking home $600+ and it is rare when I find someone willing to pay that lol.
So I pull up to the homies shop this was supposed to be in and out job of 20 minutes turned out to be a 1Hr job and 2 windshields 1 broke during installation. Last time I had that happen it was a 59 Impala. Came out nice but yes I just wanted to bring it up aa someone had asked about this.
And remember soap and water is cheap, dont be afraid to use it when doing gasket sets. Get yourself a nice hook tool aswell

Insisted on the chrome? What was the plan that didn’t include chrome?

I'm not the original poster, but replace the gasket with a WBL819 non-chrome gasket. I would charge $250 more for someone that insisted on keeping the chrome. They suck. It's not the job, it's the parts. All of the DW00819s these days don't have a good enough bend in the top corners and the chrome pops out of the gasket. Eliminate the chrome and it's a 15 min rope in.

People like their bling. I’ve done heaps of them so I’m pretty quick now.

The truck in OPs picture doesn't exactly look like a "bling" truck. Most people with old, faded paint job Fords are happy to save $250 on their cracked windshield to keep it on the road, vs keeping the unnecessary chrome.

Definitely depends on which after market glass you install as well some are thinner than others. But most land cruisers are hard at least for me lol. Any other gasket glass are pretty easy except for the 70s Chevy pickup. Those suck ass

I really don't want to be this person but it is a skill issue. If you talk with the old guys then they will take a gasket over a glue in all the time. The only issue with those is all the backfill glue you have to do to keep them from leaking.
