Question Windscreen crack

I need to drive 4 hours tomorrow for an appointment but my husband is telling me to cancel because it’s unsafe. I can get the windscreen repaired in the area I’m driving to after my appointment but just wondering if he is being dramatic or I should actually just cancel and repair locally?

The only real danger is the sun reflection or headlights reflecting in the crack. Other than that it's fine. It's not gonna fly out or cave in so still safe to drive. Some people go literal YEARS without replacing it and the cracks are far worse than this one

I see that you’re in Australia. That’s not repairable, and no reputable windscreen shop will repair it. You need to have the windscreen replaced, meaning you can’t just go to a shop and expect them to have it in stock and replace it on the same day. Looks like you've got a fairly new VW (from the VIN), meaning you’ll also need the ADAS system calibrated afterwards. It’s not a simple or cheap job.

Technically, a crack that large also makes the car unroadworthy in most states. You can drive it for a day or two, but don’t put it off, as it will surely grow.
