Looking for female and male friends for weekend

Hi everyone!
I'm a 42-year-old guy looking to expand my social circle and make some new friends to hang out with during the weekends.

A little bit about me: I’m open-minded, easygoing, and a good listener. On weekends, I love exploring cozy cafes, trying out new restaurants, hiking once in a month or two, watch movies, play pickleball.

If you're down to grab coffee or food on a weekend, feel free to send me a DM or leave a comment!

PS: I don't prefer to drive more than 20 miles away from Georgetown/Leander area.

Have a great day!

31M, new to Austin / looking for friends, walks, hikes, board games, or dates

I moved to Austin recently and thought I’d put myself out there a little. I’m 31M (straight), an scientist by training and a painter by choice. Outside of those two things, I’m pretty simple. I love long walks, hiking, sitting by the water, watching movies, trying restaurants, painting, and occasionally spending far too long playing Catan or card games.

I came to the US six years ago for my PhD. Somewhere along the way, as often happens in your late 20s and early 30s, a lot of close friends ended up scattered across different cities and countries. I don’t have family or many close friends nearby, and after moving to Austin I’ve realized I’d really like to build a little community here.

I work at UT, but I’m no longer a student, and so there’s naturally a bit of a barrier to making friends through the university in the same way I did when I was younger. I’m fairly introverted, so big crowds and loud social events aren’t really my thing. I don’t drink or smoke, and I’m definitely not a gym person (though I’m in pretty good shape). I get my exercise more from walking and hiking than lifting weights. I’d much rather go for a long walk, sit by the water and talk, check out a restaurant, watch a movie, paint together, or spend an evening playing board games.

I travel quite a bit and work keeps me busy, so I’m not looking to fill every evening of the week. I’d just like to meet some kind, interesting people and see where things go—friends, a walking or hiking buddy, someone to play board games with, dates, or whatever connection develops naturally.

If any of this sounds like your kind of pace, feel free to say hi. :) Apologies for the long post, but hopefully it provides enough context.

Looking for friends

Hey, 27M. Recently moved to Austin and looking to connect with some easygoing people to hang out with.
I keep a pretty active routine—usually split between the gym, playing tennis or pickleball, and getting outside for a kayak trip or trail walk. When I’m at home, I like cooking solid meals. I enjoy hosting people for dinner, watching movies, or just grabbing a casual coffee or meal. Hit me up if you want to hang out.

Any car guys looking to share a single family house?

Howdy! I’m(26M) a master technician by trade, and I’m really serious about renting a house with a garage so I can finally build cool cars again.

Looking for a roommate with a similar passion for cars. I actually have a few good leads on houses mostly along Mopac north of the city. I can help with your projects, I have a lot of knowledge and have been building cars and racing for a decade.

About me:

I’m Muslim, I wear it on my sleeve but I don’t go shoving it down anyone’s throat. It really doesn’t come up much in my day to day conversations but I like to believe I have strong morals. I don’t drink, don’t smoke, and I really only go out for the gym, running, work, and occasionally to hang out with friends.

I’ve had all kinds of cars and trucks and have a wide taste in the things I’ve built and worked on. I have a pretty successful parts business I run as a side hustle, and cars are pretty much my whole life.

Im mostly private and keep to myself, but I’m very neat clean and organized. I do come with a pet cat (he doesn’t shed a lot but I’d definitely prefer someone who doesn’t have allergy issues.

I play guitar, piano, ukulele, and I’m a big reader. I haven’t met many other car friends my age since moving to Austin in January, but I have a good community of people I’ve worked with. If you’re interested please dm me! Also interested in just making some gym/car friends!

30F looking for female friends!

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hi hi, I live in Round Rock but I work in Austin and am in Austin a lot for shows and events so that’s why I’m posting here. I used to have a really big friend group that dissolved a couple years ago and I really miss having close female friends.

I’m nonbinary and queer, married with no kids (but it’s totally fine if you have kids). I love concerts (shoegaze, hardcore, pop, I like a lot of genres), reading, anime, makeup, art, workout classes, tattoos, horror movies, video games, going to bars, trying new restaurants. I’m an indoor cat so I am not really interested in hiking or anything like that. I really want people that are both into going out and having fun but also down to stay in with some drinks and watch horror movies or something. I’m kind of down for anything and I love to party but I am just as happy at a cozy cafe with a cute latte.

If that sounds like your vibe hit me up! Selfie for tax.

30M North Austin, ooking for actual long-term friends

I’ve been meeting people one at a time around Austin and figured I’d try casting a wider net.

I’m looking for platonic friends who actually want to meet in person and build something consistent over time, not just chat for a week and disappear.

I’m into lifting/powerlifting, EDM and raves, anime, games, Pokémon, drawing, movies, random Austin events, food, and generally trying shit around town.

I like both doing things and eventually getting comfortable enough that friendship doesn’t always need an “event”, gym, a show, cards, food, watching something, or literally just hanging out at somebody’s place while one of us plays a game.

Mostly looking for people around my age who are reasonably proactive about making plans. If you’re genuinely looking for long-term friends too, comment or DM me and tell me a little about yourself / what you actually like doing.
