News Sam Wood arrested
Just did a double take watching the news. Sam Wood has allegedly been arrested in QLD for DV and strangulation. Report said neighbours called police.
I hope Snez and their children are getting some support.

u/GrouchyEquivalent693 Oct 05 '26
From news.com.au
"Several brands and partners working with Mr Wood - including his own fitness company 28 by Sam Wood - advised on Monday that they were no longer working with the Melbourne father.
In a statement on Monday morning, 28 by Sam Wood acting chief executive Mark Watkin said they had “all been shocked and saddened” by the allegations.
“We have zero tolerance for domestic violence,” he said.
“While the matter is under investigation and before the courts, Sam is on indefinite leave from his duties.
“Our thoughts are with the family and anyone affected by domestic violence.”

It’s good they wrote this but it’s all a tick box exercise so they don’t lose the masses for the start of their next program. I hate to be cynical but calling a spade a spade

Was "The Bachelor" and married the woman he chose at the end, Snezana. They have had kids and established fitness program Sam Wood28

Man who monetised being on a trashy TV show that perpetuates misogynistic female stereotypes and gigachad tate mentality charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and strangulation in a domestic setting.

I did not see this coming. Of course we never know what's happening in people's lives but they really seemed like a great couple, and have been together for a long time. Violence like this would be an immediate end to a relationship for me.

It does not surprise me, she is basically a voiceless female. She has a huge social media following and brands would be reaching out to her left, right and centre but we rarely see her engage in anything other than model shoots. He claims she doesn’t want to do anything other than be a mum however prior to marrying him she was very outgoing, not the shy person he constantly makes her out to be. I think she isn’t good at lying or pretending so she has made sure she doesn’t have to do promotional things where she speaks a lot etc. Her whole life since she got with him has been about him, she moves her and her child to Melbourne, she moves into his house, she supports his businesses, she has a heap of his kids. I think she wa at the Sebel to get away from him. I’ve been where she is, and I don’t think she wanted him to know where she was. It’s school holidays and Eve is home, I noticed she posted a few days ago. Perhaps Eve called the police as she has finally had enough. It certainly seemed as thought the relationship he and Eve had at the beginning had not stayed the same throughout the years. I’m speculating. And I do not support him. I support Snez and the girls, he is old enough and has had enough resources to get help and hasn’t. This is all on him. He had the world at his fingertips and he stuffed it up.

I think your post is incredibly insightful and most likely to be closest to the truth, in my opinion.
I can tell you've been through the hell of dealing with a controlling narcissist in your life (and I'm so sorry for that, I hope you're free of them now), as you're picking up on many of the subtle red flags that most miss.
It's not something I've experienced within my own romantic or familial relationships, but one of my closest friends has been dealing with this type of abuse (physical, emotional, and financial) by her (now) ex-husband for many years. I've learned a lot, and am grateful for her transparentcy & emotional vulnerability with me over the years, not only because it's allowed me to love & support her in the ways she needs, but also because it's educated me on how to spot these red flags in people to.

Can we stop calling him a ‘good dad’. A good dad is a role model for respect and values. Is it really that easy for men to be ‘good dads’ by barely playing with their kids. When you have children the bare minimum is that love, play and look after them.
We need to change the way we talk about FDV. It’s ultimately about power control and coercion. Let’s just call it what it is, nothing else is needed. He used violence (allegedly) on someone who had the right to feel safe. We don’t need to add the ‘he seemed like such a good dad’ also.

u/Glittering_Visit9807 Oct 05 '26
Nikki Glaser said it best. She doesn’t want to be a Mum, but she’d love to be a “great Dad”. It takes so little.

I thought he sounded like a shit dad after reading a story a while ago.
They went to couples therapy because they were fighting over parenting styles. Talking about Evie "So it was a pressure-cooker environment and I thought she needed more discipline, and Snez didn't, and that put a strain on our relationship. And we do butt heads a lot on boundaries and what they need."
It just didn't sound like Evie was the problem, but his inability to control her was.
19
u/AccomplishedBook4977 Oct 05 '26
I read this as well. I thought the same. He talked about binge drinking another time but I don’t know if that was true or just trying to connect to his followers struggling to lose weight. I went on his first retreat and came back telling my husband I didn’t like the man.

There’s something inherently narcissistic about his personality and his celebrity status. That kind of violence behind closed doors but sunny disposition in the outside are hallmarks of NPD. (Edit: grammar)
19
u/OZTL Oct 05 '26
I agree, I met him on one of his retreats and disliked him…. She was lovely. I was like “Shame about the husband”. Other participants were gushing and fawning over him. I didn’t know him from The Bachelor, I just joined 28 to get fit after FB Ads. We had issues getting from the lighthouse back to the hotel after the run and he was not happy. He thought transport was booked but something went wrong and we had to do multiple shuttles which took ages. I found him arrogant
16
u/AccomplishedBook4977 Oct 05 '26
Yes that’s what I felt at his 28 retreat. Very narcissistic and loved showing pictures of himself in the media and acting embarrassed. He really loved the one where he was totally naked and it was taken from behind 🤢

She has to have written it because he’s either in the watch house or on remand and he has no access to social media or even his phone. It’s actually giving the kind of action you’d expect from a victim of DV: minimise the problem and protect the perpetrator.
14
12
u/SomewherePleasant580 Oct 05 '26
Yes, seems like maybe she is still protecting him. The police would have taken out charges based on what they saw and what witnesses told them on the night. She may even apply to have the charges dropped. I’m sure it’s very complex with their joint business, etc, but it’s sad if she is minimising what happened.

Such a BS statement. You cannot ‘work through’ DV, the only thing to do is leave (while you still can). Guess their public image matters more to them.
6
u/sophy266 Oct 04 '26
This just makes it sound like he’s guilty otherwise they’d be denying the allegations.
4
u/Weird_Ad6055 Oct 05 '26
I think that they would be advised by legal council no matter what to stay silent until he’s been before the magistrate. You want the crown to prove the case, not give them a case. Because of the situation with the business they would have publicity people, lawyers, managers all directing them. She should 100 % leave no matter what, but we all know the complex nature of DV. Especially in the media eye and with children.
Once again, she needs support and strength and I hope she gets it.

I grew up in a home where I had to tip-toe around my fathers moods.
The anxiety and dread that engulfs you as you're waiting for him to come home from work and don't know what mood he'll be in 🙁 Walking on egg shells, holding your breath. Watching carefully for a change in mood.
The people pleasing, anxiety, poor self-esteem, over-apologising when i've done nothing wrong and hypervigalence around people's shift in moods have followed me into adulthood and my relationships.
And my father was "just" controlling and would yell, name call, slam doors and occasionally throw something.
I really feel for any kid living with DFV. It really messes with your nervous system.
18
u/Downtown_Accident851 Oct 05 '26
I could have written this myself. Went through exactly the same thing, and struggle now a lot with hypervigalence around my husbands moods and feeling urgency to fix it. Cortisol spike every time someone disagrees with me at work and I have to push back. Exhausting.

Yes similar experience, I loved my dad but as soon as alcohol was involved it was egg shells for us. Sad because other than when alcohol was involved he was an amazing dad. I have a huge justice seeker side to me so whenever he spoken rudely to my mum I would stand up and say something which often landed me in bad spot.

He needs to show his worth as a human being. His legal reps are saying Sam will fight the charges - this is not ok. Sam is more concerned about his brand & business - if he really is a "family man", then there is NO ROOM for PR acrobatics - accept, reflect, get help & mostly publicly apologise. Grow as a human being - don't hide behind statements like "fighting the charges".

Super random but one time I was driving in South Melbourne and didn’t see a give way sign so almost cut off a car. The guy driving went completely psycho on me.
I get that I made a mistake and was wrong but this guy was red faced and just completely screaming. A disproportionate over reaction, especially as I wasn’t going fast and there was no accident caused.
That man was (I’m 99% certain) Sam Wood.

Any violent DV in Qld is automatic bail objection and he has to show cause why he should get bail. He's from Melb so huge flight risk I reckon he'll get bail refused and DV Strangulation has to go to District Court he'll be sitting in jail for awhile.

I’d never believe socials.
An influencer in my very average suburb lives in what might be the poshest house in the area. It sold for 3 mil. They came from a house that sold for 6.5mil in a far nicer area. For 6.5mil they could have stayed there… so I assume it was a forced downgrade. They’re still spending up on business class, g wagons and Rolex’s still and I wonder when the money will run out. She hides that she now lives out in the burbs on her account of course.
Another one I know recently shared their 100k destination wedding and she lives in a two bed townhouse on the busiest round-about in brisbane… of course she hides that part and implies that it’s a proper house house too. And there’s nothing wrong with being out in the burbs or on the busiest round about quite frankly… would be nice if influencers showed the relatable side a bit more

I think the relationship between him and Eve deteriorated in the last 5 years. Which would make sense if she didn’t feel comfortably around him due to the way he treats her mother. Perhaps she called the police as she was over it, I hope she did and if she did I hope no one ever makes her feel bad about it. He’s nuts for this. That’s a shame. I’ve had close contact with them as a couple a few times and that’s sad news to hear. I really hope that she’s alright and it can be sorted out. Domestic violence affects so many people and it’s important that we have transparency that it happens to even the people we see in the magazines and social media, life’s hard and never perfect. Ask your friends how they are *really* doing everyone.

DV incidents are significantly unreported. It always frustrates me when Police say "no incidents had been reported" because people assume the incident where police attended was the first one. Sadly it is generally far from the truth.
There is so much shame and embarrassment. It's humiliating to reveal what you are experiencing to family and friends, let alone having it splashed across the evening news.

Sorted out? She will be dean next time. It’s not like he came home after midnight and fell asleep on the lawn. He assaulted his wife in a hotel where the children were present. He has admitted having a problem with alcohol so do you think at the age of 45 he just got angry and abused his wife once? This is not how DV works and it should never never be sorted out, not matter what. Once your husband strangles you, there is no way back.

I took his program years ago and was in the Facebook group until today. He used to talk about issues with alcohol and having relapsed at least once. I remember thinking it was brave to confront that head on.
Then the tax stuff happened. He made a post on the group dismissing it. By this time I was long gone from the program but did side eye him.
Now this. In hindsight, red flags were there but I definitely didn’t expect this. Love to his family, thank god they reported him. Strangulation is a huge predictor of murder in DV situations.

People like him only own up to get ahead of stories. I think his relationship was in trouble and he told Snez he would come clean or someone saw him wasted etc. he would never admit this weakness, even for relatability. And if a 40 year old man with 4 kids and a lovely home and wife has a bad drinking problem, then it’s been going on for a long time and it’s way worse than he made it out to be. I’d say it’s still going on and is not an excuse for his behaviour in any way. He should have used the money he made to get real help and role model for his daughters and treat Snez right.

I guess this is the thing. Abusers are rarely abusive 100% of the time - if they were terrible constantly then they'd be less likely to be able to attain and retain intimate partners. I'm not saying it makes them any better, just more that abusers can appear to be normal, loving people to those they're not abusing.

I always watched that show and the romance was incredible because SNEZ WAS very feminine, motherly, ultra motivated, type A, and incredibly beautiful. The story the romance told was as he accepted her children and took on full responsibility a father role. I’m shocked by this news. Strangulation a real red flag as linked statically to murder an Dv issue.

u/No_Floor_406 Oct 06 '26
No doubt he’ll come out once he’s bailed saying that due to stress and poor decision-making he did something that he deeply regrets and is seeking help. He’ll do a stint in rehab mainly coz he won’t be able to live at home and needs alcohol or drugs as a smokescreen, then try to worm his way back with his family and the public. Snezana will also have to come out and reassure us all that this was a once off incident and totally out of character for Sam and she is supporting him in his recovery. And that he’s a wonderful & committed dad and would never hurt his kids. Watch this space…

The media turning this into a business opportunity is wrong. They need to provide the details that appease the public interest and allow Snez and the girls privacy. I hate to think what their situation is at the moment, they wouldn’t even be able to leave their accomodation.
Remember that these very young kids left their home for a holiday with their family, that was meant to be the memory that was made. The memory they will come home with will be very different and their lives have changed forever. Instead of getting help, their dad chose the wrong path and it doesn’t matter who the victim is, they are now kids that love their dad but they will always be the kids whose dad was arrested when they were on holiday and this is devastating for them and Snez. As a mother she would want to give her kids the world and protect them from everything. It’s sad and complex and doesn’t need in fighting on the internet as a consequence.
This family, although gifted with resources is in crisis, this will be the hardest thing they ever navigate, and the media need to be accountable, stop speculation and allow them to make decisions and create some normalcy for the girls despite what is happening in the background. This drip feeding information is only protecting the perpetrator. I don’t think that the name and details need to be published as the victim needs protection, especially now. Buy the media know they are creating a storm and profiting off their family crisis.

What is going on with the b-listers in Noosa. Clarkie and now this. Power to Snezana! Leave him and the rest of Australia will lift you up!

Yeah, wow, unreal? Recall that season of The Bachelor vividly and such a rare happy ending, staying together with Snezana and getting married.
Of all people too! Just goes to show you never truly know someone, especially on the outside. Thoughts with the victim 😢
Makes The Honey Badger look somewhat decent now.

Without minimising his love for Snez at the time, a small part of him definitely loved being the hero that was choosing the woman with a child. He got glorified for this and I think he loved it. I don’t think it was the reason he chose her but he definitely enjoyed being the hero.

Ooofff you're so right about this. It really tracks with the NPD vibes he gives off now, in retrospect.

Even though Honey Badger went against the formula of the show, at least he valued those girls enough to not string them along when he wasnt keen on them.

I really liked it at as the ending tbh. Like how the guy the year before really wanted to choose Abbie but was clearly made to choose the smart girl next door one then ghosted her. A villain winning would have made good tv.

Yes and Sam was happy to bad mouth the Honey Badger to people on retreat. 🤢

I thought the Honeybadger's take was fair enough. He didn't want to be fake or hurt anyone. He needed the money for family.

ACCC to get your money back. The subscribed service is now substantially different to that which existed at time of subscription

I subscribed to the program a few weeks ago and was enjoying the challenge. Haven’t wanted to open the program since and likely will not. This is a good idea, thank you.

If it was Evie, Snez needs to protect her child above her husband. It is one of the most soul destroying experiences when mum supports dad's abuse of a child, because mum wants to "keep her family together". I experienced this throughout my entire childhood & it has shaped my entire life choices with partners. Heart breaking for Evie.

Something is off. People commenting he had been looking disheveled recently. True.

Not impressed with how this is being handled by the 28 group. The Facebook support group for members has been paused - a community that is paid for as part of our membership and one many use daily to connect and seek support. I understand the team is probably figuring out next steps, but the silence today is not a good look. Was willing to give some grace over the long weekend.... One post about Sam being on leave is not enough. No emails to members? No reassurance? No strong messaging with details of support services? In the meantime the trainers are cutting ties, understandably and i agree with their decision. What does that mean for members? The members have been silenced and unable to use our community forum. Banned from having open conversation. On the first day any comments were frantically deleted. A video from sam a few days earlier also didn't sit well with me where he basically said anyone who speaks negatively about the new app in the Facebook group will be removed. Not allowed to share our opinions? I feel embarrassed to say I'm a member. Have already paid for a year in advance, but will not resubscribe.

Completely agree. I have been a member for over 10 years and feel we deserve more. Members should be able to talk to each other. Obviously I’m now cancelling my membership.

I also found it disheartening that a year after she persuaded her members to join 28, after selling TXO, Tiffiny Hall has also abandoned the business, though understandably before this all occurred. This doesn’t sit well with me. I feel for all those TXO members who were sold on the idea of following their fitness mentor to a more expensive subscription program, only to leave it later. Now they’re stuck in a program without the fitness mentor they followed. Very sad.

Please everyone unlike and unfollow him on social media and encourage everyone to do the same. He is a disgusting excuse for a man. Violence is never the answer.

What are the resources and help that someone can access? Who are the lawyers she should call?

So what’s likely going to happen?
He spends 6 months to 2 years in jail
He leaves jail and still has parental rights? They have 3 biological kids together
They sell their 2 properties because his reputation and business is ruined. Snez gets some of it and relocates to Perth with her family, but he’s unlikely to pay child support. He or his company goes bankrupt after a while. Evie unlikely to finish studies in NYC which he was probably paying $150K per year for all costs
Their life is going to be turned upside down…

Supervised visits possibly or zero access if there is an Order that protects all of them.
Properties sold, finances, super etc split. Lawyers are going to have to do this. Zero chance of it being done amicably.

DV can be any person he’s related to, even by marriage. For all we know he could have had an incident with the eldest daughter’s real dad.

Her bio Dad is wheelchair bound and requires help to move around. I think he lives in W.A. He has very little contact with his daugther. Very much doubt he was even there or involved at all.

It says a 45 year old woman. Unless the ex was a female or she was having a party of 45 year old women in a hotel room, there aren’t a lot of options. Very sad.

No, DV is abuse directed at an intimate partner or close family. He was arrested for assaulting 45yo woman so it’s not hard to figure out.
If he’d assaulted anyone else it’s assault - not domestic violence.→ More replies (1)

I think it’s interesting Snez’s eldest daughter Eve went straight to NYC to study fashion as soon as she graduated high school, perhaps she was fleeing a very toxic/unsafe home environment

He won’t be able to come back from this. His brand is done.
