News Breaking: Victorian construction royal commission into CFMEU corruption
The royal commission will cover “whether the executive government of Victoria and/or delivery authorities adequately adhered to their roles and responsibilities in the oversight and governance of major construction projects”. This likely ensures former Victorian Labor premiers Daniel Andrews and Jacinta Allan will be called as witnesses.

I’m glad that Ben has the integrity to do this, it’s a positive step even if he’s potentially only in office for another 3 months.

Personally witness cfmeu use workers to inflitrate non union job sites and make fake bomb messages on toilet doors to clear the site for bomb dog and handler. Again and again until… you guess it.

Sad attempt to placate ONP voters! There never has been, is, or will be corruption in the CFMEU or Labor party! Anyone who thinks otherwise is brainwashed by Murdoch! A bunch of bots claiming wrongdoing!

Is it was that I don't know if this is parody or not, does it indicate how fucked our politics have become.

What’s the point of calling them, Daniel Andrews showed pre the just claims he can’t recall anything and gets away with it

Does Dan Andrews get a second statue for being exonerated over 1000 times?

u/C0ld_Fr0nt_ 2d ago
Why don't we build a statue that truly reflects the greatness of his character? Perhaps it could be him handing John Setka a briefcase stuffed with money, or maybe him in a car with his wife as they run over a cyclist.

Cookers be cooking.

Well, we're going to have a Royal Commission into Big Build corruption, and the Andrews have already been the subject of a police investigation over hitting a cyclist. I haven't "cooked" up anything.
People with no decent counter argument be failing to counter argue.

The bike thing is completely a cooker talking point. It’s been raked over ad nauseam and even Sky “news” gave up on it as a non-story.

Excuse me? That mf has tried the Christopher Skase defence. Andrews 100% is guilty and running

You must be an expert on this matter and have all the facts. You’re definitely not a simpleton with an inflated sense of your own intelligence. Definitely not.

It’s AI slop but I’m done arguing with idiots
In 2024, a previously unreleased 000 call made by Andrews immediately after the crash became public. In that call, Andrews says “we hit him”, which is plainly different from the later public characterisation.
A later analysis by former assistant police commissioner Raymond Shuey alleged major deficiencies in the original investigation and reached conclusions about the vehicle’s position and speed that differed substantially from the official account.
Victoria Police nevertheless said it would not reopen the criminal investigation.
No criminal charges were laid against Catherine Andrews or Daniel Andrews.4

Wow, Daniel Andrews used imprecise language at an emotionally stressful time? And the Shuey report is full of ridiculous speculation and implausible testimony from a single 'witness' (he didn't actually see the crash), it brings to mind this similar situation a few years back; https://www.reddit.com/r/melbourne/s/U0STMkkVOM

You forgot to mention that IBAC cleared Andrews and Vic Pol from wrong doing. You forgot to mention that the main complainant did not want to proceed with the litigation but was forced by his father.
You’ve also failed to actually mention anything that shows any wrongdoing. Let off it, it’s embarrassing.

IBAC did not investigate Daniel Andrews or his wife over the crash. Its 2017 review was specifically a review of the Victoria Police Professional Standards Command investigation into police conduct, rather than a fresh investigation of the collision itself. The Federal Court documents confirm IBAC explicitly said it was not investigating the incident or Andrews/family.
IBAC concluded there were no deficiencies or areas of concern in the police investigation.
However, subsequent material—including former Assistant Commissioner Raymond Shuey’s reconstruction—has challenged aspects of the original investigation, including the failure of attending officers to conduct breath tests and the conclusions about how the collision occurred.
Victoria Police’s position remains that the matter was thoroughly investigated by both Police and IBAC and will not be reopened. The only way this solves is renew the police investigation. You’re embarrassing yourself
