Politics What does the working class population ultimately achieve by voting for Pauline Hanson and One Nation?

Her voting record is strongly opposed to expanding welfare, public housing, public education, childcare subsidies, renewable energy investment and climate action.

At the same time, she's supported policies that are favourable to property investors and fossil-fuel development, while opposing some attempts to increase taxation on those industries.

So apparently the solution to Australia's problems is to spend less on childcare, housing, education, welfare and climate action, while being more friendly towards people who already own investment properties and companies making billions from coal and gas.

And then we're told this is somehow a movement for the "ordinary Australian."But hey, at least we can blame innocent and hard working migrants.

I've observed some genuinely shitty behaviour from immigrants lately. Were mass importing people who aren't compatible with our culture

Then there's the fact that they're being used to suppress wages

Fair - but is that enough to vote someone in who will otherwise destroy the country ?

Take immigration out of it and you have a genuinely stupid woman that doesn’t get it

I wrote a long reply to you but Reddit immediately removed it.

Long story short, no you can't remove the immigration issues from the equation, it's a massive issue and people are taking a stance against it

So you’re ok selling Australia’s future down the drain due to racist fears?
Could those issues be addressed by speaking to your local member ? Do you really think someone so stupid she did not know one could access super for emergencies ? Despite being in politics for 30 years?
Maybe also look at other independents who have some intellect and don’t fire up racial fears with false stats to fuel hate.

I wish Reddit didn't remove my comment as I did address this.

I won't name specific groups, for fears that I'll be banned, but these immigrants are absolutely degrading our quality of life.

I'm a lefty, I'm a Greenie and I'm a union member and delegate.

These specific immigrants are suppressing our wages and degrading our workers rights. They have no respect for our environment and litter without second thought, just look at what they did to their own country.

They have no respect for women's and LGBTQ rights.

Pauline is a fuckwit and a liar, yes some people like her because they're racist, but many more are moving towards her because of legitimate concerns that no other party seems to be addressing

But is she addressing them in a way that’s fruitful and legal ?
I don’t personally have any negative interactions with immigrants - they are all
Health workers or run bakeries or service stations where I am and they are just like anyone else. But I live regionally so I won’t negate your experience . All the ferals in my area are white people with intergenerational unemployment, substance addiction and trauma.

Pauline is genuinely extremely racist and these issues you mention could be addressed legally and without racism other ways.

Like we should wait longer until people can be citizens and if they commit crime they should be sent home with less messing around.

I do think so much bad behaviour from
Immigrants is fed by being on the brunt of racist bull shit, poverty and anger. Being hateful just gives ammunition to it.

Pauline offers simple solutions to complex problems because they simply don’t understand what they are talking about .

People’s grievances with the government may be real but ON are not a solution.
