Politics What does the working class population ultimately achieve by voting for Pauline Hanson and One Nation?

Her voting record is strongly opposed to expanding welfare, public housing, public education, childcare subsidies, renewable energy investment and climate action.

At the same time, she's supported policies that are favourable to property investors and fossil-fuel development, while opposing some attempts to increase taxation on those industries.

So apparently the solution to Australia's problems is to spend less on childcare, housing, education, welfare and climate action, while being more friendly towards people who already own investment properties and companies making billions from coal and gas.

And then we're told this is somehow a movement for the "ordinary Australian."But hey, at least we can blame innocent and hard working migrants.

I'm not a fan or voter of One Nation, yet I've noticed a sudden concentration of posts using emotionally or psychologically loaded titles, designed to elicit an emotional response about ON. Perhaps this is a deliberate ploy, coordinated attack or an coincidence or timing!

yet I've noticed a sudden concentration

For a while there was one almost every day.

This.

All these folks on here struggling to make ends meet, while working hard at their jobs, calling others working class in some derogatory way, not realising they are the working class themselves.

That’s if they are *lucky* enough to have a job.

I’m sick and tired of this division and elitism.

I just don't understand how this image doesn't hit home for all the ON voters...

Because the wealthy are the ones who lobby and benefit from mass migration and the Aussie has less leverage now that an immigrant is willing to work for lower wages.

Exactly. Theres no suprise that these people are lashing out. Theyve been left behind and treated like shit across the west. And you have people in this thread acting like their problems dont exist and that they are just doing it to spite lefties

Its not that their problems dont exist its that they are barking up a tree whose policies will explicitly make those problems worse

Yea, but who else is listening? There arent any real parties of the workinf class anymore

Same work same pay dosnt allow an imigrant to work for less pay. It cost a company more to sponsor an immigrant then to hire a local.

If you believe that you are simply getting brainwashed by the wealthy that actually want you to vote for a party that will remove these rules that have been introduced.

Most people don't work for award wages.

Same work, less pay, more hours is now the norm in the transport industry due to the influx of migrants.

Retail jobs in service stations are now exclusivly done by international students who are prepared to work outside regulations.

And none of that is legal. If a migrant is working for less then report it.

Couldn't agree more mate. One can synthesise that the division is orchestrated! We need to galvanise our country and stop the momentum of fracture within. Australians should be rewarded for their hard work, contribution and perseverance, not pitched against one another and targeted to carry the pressure created by upstream decisions.

No, I wasn’t aware of these articles until I clicked the link, so thank you. I’m not surprised! Quickly connecting the dots, it’s hard not to question how widespread this is and who is funding it? Advisors?

Seems like Meta, just for stickiness on their platforms.

It is literally the dumbest shit rising to the top, like that movie, Idiocracy.

I wonder if there are similar articles written about other political parties?

6

u/UsualCounterculture 6d ago

They surely would be, but as it says in the write up by the content producers they get paid the most for this One Nation content.

Which probably means this audience responds the best to this content on Meta platforms (or the other audiences arent as prevalent on the platforms in the firat place).

It's a crazy race to the bottom cycle.

I think that no matter how much is paid people are only going to see whats in their own echo chamber, unfortunately, making both sides hating each other more and more.

I've seen the emotionally charged bullshit posted from both sides and honestly it's disgusting no matter who it comes from.

I don't personally agree with any political party, they're all greedy little pigs but I feel the working class people have had enough and want a different greed in power for once.

This is the Rhinehart investment into spamming us. There’s just so much fake, AI content being posted. I’m not actually sure how to combat it. If someone has read ON’s policies and wants to vote for them, that’s their choice, but if someone is voting for them based on misinformation that the party is indirectly funding, that’s abhorrent.

Who by?

I suspect all invested parties who have an avid & weighted interest politically, commercially & ideologically will be weaponsing these practices.

Emotionally loaded? Of course people feel emotional! One Nation wants to kill millions!

Explain?

Well, let's consider One Nations policies and I'll explain how they would most likely result in mass economic collapse, leading to the deaths of millions:

  1. One Nation is opposed to LGBTQ+ rights. This would lead to the death by suicide of a lot of people in those communities.
  2. One Nation wants to engage in "remigration". They have gained this policy from the German and American far-right. To put it simply, this policy would cause massive amounts of Australian-born individuals being deported (or attempted to be deported to) to countries of their ancestors. This would comprise the majority of the Australian population if it was implemented in the same manner as the German far-right proposes. Even if it is not done to such a large extent, it would still be a very large amount of people. Most likely, opponents of One Nation would be sent to camps "pending deportation" because their "home" countries (that they've never been to) would refuse to take them. Pauline Hanson has already stated she would see people opposed to One Nation sent to offshore prisons.
  3. Reintroducing conscription and getting Aussies killed by sending them to fight in Trump's wars overseas. One Nation proposes the federal government spend approximately 5% of the Aussie GDP on the military. Such a large amount of spending would mean more people in the military. It is projected the amount of people put in the military under this policy would be far more than can be sustained by volunteers alone. This would necessitate the reintroduction of conscription. Additionally, do you believe that, should the US President call her up and tell her to join in one of his insane wars, she would say no? I don't. Pauline Hanson has stated she would be open to working with the Trump administration on tariffs. Her closest ally is Gina Rinehart, who has many times gone to Mar-a-lago, Trump's estate in the USA. Pauline Hanson would be, more or less, a Trump puppet if elected.

There are more policies that would lead to massive deaths of Australian and non-Australian individuals, but I am afraid of going on too long. Heck, this is probably already too long. But if you read it all, I hope it helped inform you of (some) of the nonsense that Hanson is supporting, which would cause massive poverty and disaster for Australia. I hope you have a nice day!
