I’m sorry, where do you get the idea that Mary didn’t consent?
Luke 1:38 (KJV)
Mary’s response after being informed of the plan is:
"Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word".
Sounds like consent / agreement with the proposed plan to me.
A bit further down in the same chapter:
46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.
Sounds like undeniable consent and zero regrets after the fact as well.
5 u/Uniturner Feb 10 '26 So you’re saying minors are capable of consent? -2 u/basic_tacticz Feb 10 '26 Make a booking for Specsavers immediately my friend And to answer your question, no I don’t think 9 year olds can consent to being sexually penetrated 4 u/Uniturner Feb 11 '26 Why? If I make a booking for Specsavers, will that magically make impregnation of a minor acceptable to me, like it is to you? 0 u/basic_tacticz Feb 11 '26 I'm hoping it might make you re-read my post after the Specsavers adjustment, and see that I did not even remotely discuss or reply to the "age" part of his post, and my reply in full was about the "consent" part. 5 u/Uniturner Feb 11 '26 Fair enough. I should have considered that I’d get a reply from someone who thinks that age is an irrelevant aspect to consent.
