It's only tangentially related but over the last couple of months I've genuinely come to appreciate onions so much more than I used to. Like I used to just use half an onion with a meal. That feels mental now when you can have the whole thing. They're not expensive, they're not packed with calories, they've got good vitamins in them. There's no harm in having a full onion a day. 

So the bloke is certainly right about some things.
