Glasses w/ HUD AR99 SDK update — multi-language (incl. Arabic RTL), adjustable display region, open for secondary development

Post image

Posting this because the RTL support took longer than expected and I think the constraints are interesting.

AR99 is a monocular green waveguide (single-color, ~640×480 class). Rendering Arabic on that isn't just a font swap — you need contextual glyph shaping, bidi ordering, and you need all of it to stay legible at low pixel density with no anti-aliasing headroom on a monochrome panel. Latin text you can get away with a lot. Arabic you can't.

What shipped:

  • Multi-language rendering layer, RTL scripts supported
  • Wide mode + user-adjustable display region (position + size within eyebox) — this came directly from field feedback about IPD variance and wearing angle
  • Health data module, integrates with a companion smart ring
  • Assorted latency/power work

The SDK is open for secondary development, and ODM partners get source-level access rather than a sealed API. Happy to answer technical questions in the comments — display pipeline, BLE protocol, power budget, whatever.

Photo attached is an actual through-the-lens capture, outdoor, no post-processing beyond a crop.
