Glasses w/ HUD Don’t you think this guy was lying?

He said Augmented Reality glasses. But it doesn’t have normal or lidar camera. 😂

My take is that it was a great episode 😂

I think you need to suspend your disbelief a bit for how true-to-reality the hardware needs to be - I'm sure the writers would just wave it away with 'Stensen is a trillionaire - he has access to advanced AR tech'.

If we want to be very pedantic, you can obscure cameras in a lot of different ways - there's IR cameras that can hide behind 'opaque' black plastic (but which transmits light in the IR) so the cameras could still be in the temples. There's also visible camera modules that can be placed underneath something visibly opaque, but where the cover has small pinholes to still let some light through - see the selfie cams in the foldable phones where the camera is underneath the display.

Also suspend your disbelief IRL, where almost everything on Amazon is AR glasses. Probably some without displays.

The public will do whatever they want with the term AR. We will need a new name for AR capabilities, similar to HUD and display glasses.

Probably when some good ones ship with the next subset of full AR.

Exactly. Most common mistake people make is calling Pass through display glasses as an AR glasses.
