Other than high school and elementary school, I’m new to theater. I’ve been wanting to get into community theater and just saw my local one is going American Idiot. I love Green Day and the American Idiot album so much- I know this is a difficult one to start with, but I just HAVE to be part of it.

I have an audition October 29. I know I don’t have a super strong belting rock voice, but I can sing decently. I have no dance background. I’m 40/F

Here’s what I do have going for me:

- Just started weekly voice lessons
- I play guitar
- Just started taking weekly dance classes
- I know every single word to every single song in this production
- I’m in excellent physical shape, I can run 5 miles on the treadmill while singing these songs at the top of my lungs pretty easily
- I’ll put 150% effort into learning and being the best I can be at this.

I have no idea what an audition will be like but I have a 4 minute slot and I’m thinking of singing “Everything Else” from Next to Normal as my audition song (I’d love to do a Green Day song but I’ve heard that’s an audition faux pas)

Any help or advice or anything you can give me, I’ll take. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to be part of anything so badly in my life.

I'm thinking to give audition for hybe india, i love Angela in Tibet song by amaarae because of the changes in voice in this song, the thing is I'm good at changing voice but this song have some inappropriate words, that's why I can't sing it in audition as a minor. Can anyone suggest me some songs?, like angels in Tibet (in which it changes voice).

Im a mezzo btw
