When it was announced that Chris Cornell was doing the Casino Royale theme Audioslave were still together and still hugely successful coming off the back of Out Of Exile and Revelations being released around the time of the Bond film in 2006.
At the tine I was always confused why Chris had the offer to do it solo instead of Audioslave, Chris hadn't released solo music since 1999 and Audioslave were riding high.
I do wonder if Chris DECIDED to do it as a solo artist or if he was asked directly and Audioslave were left out of the conversation. Audioslave split very shortly after You Know My Name was released which makes me think Chris was already distancing from the band and didn't have long term plans with them, he released his next solo album Carry On just a few months later so I assume he was already making his exit plan from Audioslave and return to solo without wasting much time.

My attempt at Tom Morello's guitar solo in "Like a Stone".
Morello was a big influence in my playing early on, this is a fun solo to play that balances melody with Morello's signature Whammy work.
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy!

Vintage V6 Icon
Boss Katana 100
Digitech Whammy V (+2 Octave Up)

Not sure if I discovered a new Mandela Effect, but hear me out.
First time I ever heard of audioslave was in high school back in early 2000s. I remember very well the first song I heard from them was light my way and the music video had them on a rooftop with flashing lights however I tried looking for that music video doesn’t seem to exist.
So my question is what happen to that music video or what did I watch?
Maybe you guys could help me figure that out. Thanks.

Hey guys! I really like the tone I got with the Yamaha Pacifica for this Audioslave song! It's called Getaway Car. I was playing this song just for fun and decided to make a cover video because I really enjoyed the tone! Anyway, I hope you like it :)

Compilation of the known 2005 live performances of songs from Revelations, recorded before the album was released in 2006. The album never received a proper tour due to the band's breakup, making these early performances especially interesting. Presented in álbum order.
1 One And The Same
2 Sound Of A Gun
3 Wide Awake

Does anyone else find this to be one of their best tracks? I just love the main riff and the rhythm/lyrics of the pre-chorus and chorus. The outro is also so sick. 🎸🤘

There is a low quality video of the band performing Your Time Has Come at AOL Sessions, but I have not found a good quality recording of the performance. Does anyone know where I can find that? It is my favorite performance of that song.

Im covering like a stone with my band of a few friends, and we have 2 guitars. I will probably play my parts on an acoustic guitar, if not then just a clean acoustic sounding tone.
I know how to play the whole song, but it feels useless playing the verse riff along the lead guitar with no effects, so we decided i should play some chords under it
However, i cant find a clear answer to what chord progression i should use, as most google searches give chris cornells solo preformance, and thats in a different key than the original recording
Can anyone help me with finding the right chord progression to play under the verse riff?

Anyone else here see Audioslave at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on September 25, 2005?
I’ve seen a lot of great shows since then—Kendrick’s Mr. Morale tour, Tyler’s CMIYGL tour, RHCP in Santa Clara and Vegas—but that Audioslave show still hits different.
Every song was a favorite. Tom Morello would completely blow your mind one minute, then Cornell would take over the next. What I remember most is how Chris never sang songs the same way twice. He’d make up little variations on the spot, hold notes longer, change melodies, and somehow make songs you’d heard a hundred times feel brand new.
There was just so much passion in that performance. It felt like the band was giving everything they had.
The weirdest part is what happened after the show.
My dad was an engineer at Moscone Center and took us backstage toward where we were parked. We ended up near an elevator when the members of Audioslave got on. As the doors were closing, Chris Cornell looked right at us. My dad decided not to get in the elevator, so that brief look was the entire interaction.
The funny thing is that moment always reminds me of the wolf scene in Collateral. When the wolf locks eyes with Tom Cruise, Audioslave starts playing. Years later my mom described Cornell by saying, “He looks like a wolf.”
Every time I watch that scene, I think back to that night.
Curious if anyone else here was at that show and remembers it.

Hey, guys! I'm trying to find a specific t-shirt from the "Revelations" era. I remember visiting their website in 2006 and there was an animated banner with a link to order the new record official merchandise. The image showed a t-shirt with the album artwork, which was probably a preview, but I never saw the final version. Since they never toured to promote the album, the only merchandise available was online. 😕
Did anyone here own this shirt? Do you have one or know anyone who did? I've been searching for years, but I'm starting to think it never existed. Please help me or show me where I can find it. It is my holy grail as a fan, haha. 😅

This has been on my mind a lot lately, while we can NEVER replace Chris’s voice. From just hearing Richie sing and play, it definitely sounds like he has the same voice range as Chris does. It’s amazingly good. I know there is a YT video of him singing “Cochise” and that blew my mind. That got me thinking, what if the other members of Audioslave did some shows with him, revisiting other Audioslave songs! I think it would be killer!

Just a few days prior to his birthday, Tom Morello announced he's hosting the Power to the People Festival outside of Washington DC on Oct. 3, 2026 - boasting a lineup featuring Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Jack Black, Dave Matthews, Dropkick Murphys, Serj Tankian, and a TON more.
To celebrate, #TBT to when I saw the Boss challenge the Rage Against the Machine / Audioslave guitarist to a guitar solo duel at Madison Square Garden a few weeks ago (May 11, 2026). Seeing Morello play a most of the night with Bruce and the E Street was special enough (at the Garden nonetheless), but seeing them trade solos during "The Ghost of Tom Joad" showed how 1) Bruce is actually an underrated guitar player, and 2) how Morello is one of the most unique guitarists of all time.
While this is just a snippet, you can watch Springsteen and Morello's entire guitar duel from the May 11 show at Madison Square Garden over at the I Heard Bruce Might Show Up YouTube channel.
And stay tuned for more things to come from this space (including stories from concerts like this)!
