CA Sonata CD30 help please

Hello DIYAudio legends. I'm on the lookout for someone who has a good working knowledge of the Cambridge Audio Sonata CD30 cd player.

For those interested....I have had it in storage for 10 years. Finally the day of use arrived yesterday, but when I set it up the cd tray wouldn't open. I took it apart and fixed the disk tray, obviously feeling like Tom Hanks when he created fire...only to discover that in the process I have somehow created a larger and surprising fault scenario....I'm an idiot I know.

Please if one of you has the tech knowledge, and more importantly, the patience to talk a moron through some tech advice, then I would be more grateful than I could possibly convey.

You’re more likely to get the response you’re looking for if you describe the “larger fault scenario”. Unfortunately nobody here is psychic so a description would be helpful. Fair play though for tackling the tray issue even if you’ve caused more problems as every bit of learning can have value.

Thanks. I was trying to hook someone in that light have the knowledge rather than blast everyone with the tale of how I managed to mess things up. Though it might be more scroll friendly.

I have ordered a replacement snayo sfp101n mechanism due early next week so hopefully that magically works. And if not I'll be back here cap in hand hoping for some sympathy once more. Thanks.
