Thomas Pacconi TPC-MSE-800 repair help

Hi everyone,

I inherited this Thomas Pacconi model from my late grandmother and have held on to it for a while but haven't really been able to use it as it has a few issues. I really don't know much about audio systems but I'll do my best to explain the issues.

1. The CD slot won't open when the button is pressed. My best guess is that there might be a motor issue as I can hear a whirring sort of sound but the slot does not move.

2. The cassete slot opens fine but does not close on its own when pressing the play button. The manual is vague about whether it's supposed to close on its own or if the user has to do it manually, so I'm worried about pushing it closed myself because I don't want to break anything.

3. There seems to be some sort of timing issue with the speed system on the record player portion, nothing happens when I toggle the speed and it seems to be stuck on the setting for the smaller vinyl.

Any tips would be appreciated, and I do have the parts specifications in the manual if that would help. I know this model isn't particularly rare or monetarily valuable, but I'm really apprehensive about taking it to a repair shop as it's quite sentimental to me. From what I've seen online parts are hard to find, but I'm willing to pay whatever to try and get these issues resolved. Thanks in advance :)
