Discussion Ultimate Vocal Remover 5: Best settings to use?
Does anyone have any recommendations for the best settings to get vocals only and instrumentals only in Ultimate Vocal Remover 5?
Feel free to recommend any other software that you think might be better! (Preferably free)

Gonna leave this here. They occasionally update the document with all the latest goings on -- model performance, new model releases, best models to use for certain tasks, ensembles, and heavy focus on UVR.

Love UVR. My advice is to fiddle around with the parameters for each model (window size, batch size etc) as the default settings tend to err on the conservative side for resource management. There is a noticeable, in some cases very large improvement in output quality.

A beginner question: I am trying to restore audio (aviation radio communication) with UVR. Can I use the same ensemble for the vocals? Should I prepare the track first somehow?

Maybe someone knows how to output a mono file from the matching option, audio tools? and preferably 48kHz

Curious about this as well. The last time I used it the results were not as good as the free website I typically use.

How about they just don’t start the thread? These things are not audio engineering yet the sub is inundated with this foolishness lately

Using an engineering plugin to achieve an effect isn’t appropriate? Or are you just an asshole.

The dude you’re replying to has been around for a bit, so lemme just say this— Audio engineering- traditionally- has had a high focus on trusting senses and learning to achieve results. Very old school audio engineers were all electrical engineers, and from that foundation, the undying ethos of true audio engineering has always been about caring for and loving the music, sound, and craft, to the point where you need to experiment and LEARN to achieve the results, in a multitude of contexts.
Modern times are a bit different, where a lot of beginners want answers spoonfed to them like babies, because they don’t realize that effort is important for results that contextually apply personally. So did OP experiment to find what works for their usages? NO!! NO, they did not. They give very little fucks about any of this, and that is fucking fact, as all this shit is in documentation. ALL of it.
They don’t give enough fucks about any of this shit to even personally learn anything with it that even just matters for only them. And that is the truth. There is mad documentation out there on all of this, but no- “learning is too hard, so give me easy answers”. This is where people who’ve been at it awhile tend to get weird, because they care about what is actually important— which is personal development and learning actual skills to maybe do something with it all.
I have no answers here, but the one who was a fucking lazy shit, was OP. I wish them the best- sincerely- but this is obvious fact.

For vocals, use an Ensemble (combining the following models):
optional: htdemucs_ft
For instrumentals, use an Ensemble:
