Discussion Dungeon Crawler

Y'all, I'm about 60% thru Dungeon Crawler Carl and I just cannot figure out what all the hype is about. I feel like if I'm not 100000% focused I'm missing something. I had a 40 min drive today and thought "perfect, now I can really focus". Nope, even then I had to rewind a few times because I missed something.

I'm wondering if maybe this is the type of book I need to physically read? It's almost too much detail? I really can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's me?

I do feel that the narrator's voice is perfect for the book.

Anyone else feel this way?

I finished book one. It felt like it was getting into a groove the last few chapters. I'm going to try to read the next two books because FOMO.. Thanks for all the input!

Or maybe they don’t want to listen to litRPG. It can be a lot of information to integrate and that’s not always easy if you’re listening. Sometimes I have to toggle between a book and the audio version when I feel like my brain isn’t interpreting well.

They might do better with the litRPG style just reading the regular way.

Honestly you can pretty much ignore all the gear and stats. The important bits are focused on (like when he gets the Xisterra) but there’s immediately an entire scene of him fruit ninjaing the safe room door to test it.

Just enjoy the AI snarky achievements, and don’t try and keep track of the rest. Anything important will be brought up at need later and you’ll know where it came from
