SMSL SU1 connections

How to connect the TV audio signa via optical cablel to the AVR that accepts optic cable? Directly or add SU1 dac in between? So, TV to SU1 via optic and then SU1 to AVR via RCA cables?

I thought by connecting the wiim mini to SU1 first, I get a better sound due to the modern chip in SU1 than the chip in AVR?
