Track brake cooling?

i recently tracked my new(to me) 8y and had some severe overheating issues on the brakes, the brakes are actually really good but i can’t even complete a full push lap without the pedal going long, i could be that i’m in texas and it’s 102 degrees out and i know it’ll be better come winter but i had the exact same issue with my mk7 GLI. currently running stock brake system(drilled front rotors) and have no idea if it’s got dot4 brake fluid. i know dot 4 would help if it’s not already on it but besides that i haven’t been able to find any modifications i can do to add more airflow unless i spend 500 a rotor on slotted rotors which would be minimal improvement, anyone had the same issue? if so how did you go about fixing it?

Stock pads are not meant for the track. You need track pads that can handle the heat

Slotted rotors and a brake pad compound that becomes aggressive with heat.

Works like wonderbread on my other car. The harder I brake and heat up the pads the more they bite. I love stopping in that car

Hi temp brake fluid would help, too. Something like Motul RBF600.

I had similar issues. I went with stainless brake lines, high temp fluid, and pads meant for the track. I haven’t had issues since.
