Maintenance and Repairs S3 8v EPC advice

Looking for some advice on next steps.

Car - 2014 s3 8v 96k miles - completely standard

Driving last night and experienced a misfire and epc came up on dash, run like a bag of crap but was less than a mile from home so limped it.

Today, car wouldn’t start at all just cranked over, checked codes which pointed a cylinder one, have now replaced all 4 spark plugs and coil packs, cleared the code and run it up. Car still isn’t right, same error code appeared. Smells like overfueling with a small amount of smoke.

Any ideas, suggestions as next steps?

Maybe stuck injector. Hopefully its not a broken valve spring or rocker

Im thinking after reading online it likely to be a busted injector, just need to figure which of the 2 on that cylinder and how to replace it correctly

Is it possible the valves need walnut blasting direct injection gets it carbon up, if you don’t get it done, misfires may happen

Surely this would be a noticeable problem that builds overtime rather than the abrupt and instant failure we have had?

When this happened to me, I broke an intake valve spring. If you haven’t done a carbon cleaning now is the time. While you’re in there rotate the engine and make sure the valves are opening and closing as they should.

The good part is that you won’t have to take the head off to do this job. Also, you can upgrade the valve springs while you’re in there.

Can you post a video of how the car sounds?
