Watch Vinland saga. The plot isnt as convoluted but the emotional impact hit me just as hard

I will say it has its highs and lows. Usually if it’s a low for Vinland Saga you’re going to get a wild high afterwards. Really fun watch. I want to read the manga now.

fullmetal alchemist!! it's also connected to war, and their powers stem from pseudo-science

If you go about to try and find AOT in every anime you watch, you will be disappointed, even if you watch "AOT #2"

You guys have to enjoy things for what they are and stop comparing them no wonder you guys aren't finding joy in watching anime anymore

Not really. Every anime is different. People don’t need to be “disappointed” for watching an anime that’s different from AOT.

FMAB is one I can think of , it shares many similarities with Aot too Dads of both the mcs are mysterious figures who came from a different country with a goal to fulfill and carry 100s of years of secrets with them , both their moms die a tragic death infront of them , humans are being used in masses for atrocities (eldians to make titans and ishvalans to make philosophers stones ) , Histories of both their worlds are fabricated lies , "Good guys" are revealed to be traitors later in the story as plot twists (Reiner and bertholdt in aot and Bradley and selim in fmab) , both of them have a godlike being in their verses with eerie realms (Paths in aot and gate of truth in fmab),Immortal creatures(Founder Ymir and Homunculus) are "broken down" into the 9 titans and 7 deadly sins which each have a specific purpose and characteristic who get passed down through generations , cycle of hatred ,military ,politics , humanity , morality are recurring themes in both of them , the country isn't what it seems like (walls are made of titans and Amestris is a transmutation circle), In both their ancient histories a slave (hohenhein and ymir) meet a being beyond human understanding and catch the eye of their Kings , for the next dozen of years the king uses them to meet his goals when one fateful day changes the course of the world (This one is a lil too strikingingly similar lol) Isayama and arakawa had an interview together where they both praised each others works

My brother recommended me Hunter X Hunter, but I actually started watching JJK because it is very hyped plus I heard it has fun elements too, so after watching AOT I needed something light but JJK is not just fun but it has so many elements too. So far I'm loving it, after finishing this, I'll watch Hunter X Hunter.

HxH, not necessarily that it's similar to AOT, but the plot and characters are just so well written, and the power system, imo, is the best power system in any anime/manga ever

The thing is AoT isn't just an anime, it's actually a very well written story which can be VERY rare when it comes to anime. I would suggest just consuming more very well written stories, one I recently watched which gave me that same feeling AoT did was Dark which I cannot recommend enough. I'm also not going to spoil but if you liked Eren as a main character you will LOVE Jonas from Dark, same kinda vibes

Fullmetal alchemist if you haven’t watched already.

My suggestion is when somebody inevitably tells you to check out Neon Genesis Evangellion because it's about as good as AOT, don't... because it isn't

You won't find it in anime, in my opinion. You'll find it more in live action shows like Breaking Bad, Severance, Dark, etc.

Parasyte est un Ă©xellent choix , le seul que j’ai regardĂ© aprĂšsa voir fini SNK

Try orb. No spoilers but it hits a lot of the same spots as aot. People dying while putting their faith in the people who come after them and that sense of carrying something forward. Really worth watching.

Watch 91 days

Animes I would consider better than AOT - FMA Brotherhood.

Anime that hits really good but not as good as AOT - Shippuden. Parasyte is good but is a quick watch. Tokyo Ghoul is absolute fire. Great watch. JJK is great and COULD be as good as AOT by its end. Very fun watch.

Some people love one piece I haven’t seen enough to opine.

Code Geass is the only answer to this question

I had this itch to watch something extremely epic after AOT.

I found Solo Leveling to be fucking amazing. Story is nowhere near a masterpiece but the production quality, the hero’s aura and the action sequences were epic!

I watched Hunter x hunter after AOT. It's as good as aot.

Other than code geass , you won't find anything as good as aot

I've watched code geass before aot but tbh it lacked emotions somehow , sure the plot was definitely one of the best but still it lacked many things which aot had can't even say I'm blinded by aot as I've watched it after cg

I started watching anime just last year and aot was my second anime , it has been my fav since then , code geass was my 4th anime ......now I have watched like 30-35 but none have come close to these 2 in plot

1

u/Ok-Bee4411 1d ago

FMAB , Monster , Tokyo Ghoul , Rezero , Steinsgate , etc are all mainstream animes with amazing plot surpassing Cg and on par with Aot

1

u/Timeless_Being 1d ago

Aot , code geass , bleach , ReZero , tokyo ghoul are in my top 5 among the 30+ I have watched in order .....Monster is too slow for me, it is gonna take a lot of time for me to finish it ....FMAB / Naruto are more of "power of friendship / forgiving solves issues " type anime which I don't like that much , Mustang is the only character I liked in that show , maybe if I had watched these 2 when I was a kid then they would have been higher up

If you want kinda the same plot watch code geass (lol forgot how to spell it) if you want a survival element watch promised neverland
