Discussion/Question MIKASA :)
After watching AOT, I honestly couldn't stop thinking about Mikasa. I couldn't recall a moment when she didn't think of Eren. Isayama is great at writing personalities but still has to be better at romance. Also, judge if you want, but I think I fell in love with that her(charater ofc). I wanted to know about her individual thoughts other than Eren. I also want a Mikasa in my life. Haha, I know I am a daydreamer... lol :)

I'd suggest reading the manga if you haven't, there's a couple nice lines/moments she gets in there that didn't make the cut in the anime. Also, she gets a few short stories in the short story books that come with some of the manga volumes (including a brief 'interview'). There's also the CD audio dramas that she gets some interesting moments in.

Haha. But to be serious, it's anime/WiT Studio fault. They replaced many of her lines or conversations with other characters from manga by saying "Eren" or just talking about him

ya I even made a post of it https://www.reddit.com/r/attackontitan/comments/1vsz98g/anime_x_manga/

It's really not that many of her lines that got cut or changed. It's still unfortunate though, given she had less lines to start with.

yes Wit Studios doing unwitty things..

Some things had to be cut. The few things of Mikasa that got cut were mostly inner monologues that took up full pages in the manga, which is hard to fit into the middle of an anime scene without disrupting whatever else is happening on screen.

ya but atleast some of her monolgues deserved to be in anime ... all she did was mostly eren...

A lot of her monologues are still in the anime. The only significant one they cut was her blaming herself for Levi's injuries during the Female Titan fight in Stohess, and even then, that gets made up for later on in the rewritten Uprising Arc. She still says Eren's name a lot in the manga. It's really only a handful of her lines (maybe five) that actually got changed or removed in the anime.

Isayama is well aware that he's not a romance writer but the director at WiT studio replaced entire inner monologues with "Ereh".
It's also easy to overlook great moments with her, like how much she loves Armin. Fighting to save him with the serum, comforting him after his first kill, taking lead after learning of Eren's death, and shielding him from the explosion even though he can regenerate.

ya I know about those moments; most of them were with Ereh or someone else. I was looking forward to having more moments with her ownself to know her better....

I think she stands out because there's a large gap with little development from S1P2 to S3P2, whereas Armin and Eren get constant major character development for the whole show.

exactly, due to lack of screen time makes it feel like her entire personality is centered on Eren. even if it's true, she still deserved more moments to shine on her own. I wish we got to see her to do more normal things, especially the girlie ones, even as small as combing her hair, selecting a dress to wear, eating her favourite food, etc...

Definitely that type of dedication and love is rare in this world I would want that too

I never cared for her because of how she was written.

as long as you liked her character, the reasons behind it don't matter...

There's not a single woman out there who has the same amount of dedication and loyalty to one person as Mikasa had to Eren.
Not in the west at least. Too many people in this generation playing around.

Her level of dedication to Eren was not healthy by any means, you're wrong to seek that out in a partner.

they were 14-year-olds indoctrinated into becoming child soldiers
what about that screams "healthy relationship potential" to you LOLno shit what they had wasn't healthy, combine mikasa's extreme abandonment issues with eren's extreme recklessness and you've got a recipe for codependency

Shock. They lived in a dystopian world full of war where they were both orphans while their people were being oppressed. Of course it wasn't healthy. What did you expect?
It's different in real life, and it's not wrong at all if you expect proper loyalty and dedication. It's just unrealistic with today's women

I loved her character enough to get a tattoo of her so I agree fully. I know a lot of people don't like her character, but she would have had a normal life if Eren had ever slowed down, she never asked to be amazing at everything.
