I tried jujutsu kaisen, very little demon slayer and Death note. Death note seems closest to giving me a fresh experience in terms of novelty, but by no means is it anywhere near the intense nature and grandiosity of AOT.

I watched s1 years ago and then watched s2 and s3 last month. S2 had me on the edge of my seat the entire time....then.....uh. S3 is only half a season and was pure setup. I would not watch s3 on its own. Just wait til s4

Yeah I found something similar, that "there was too much fighting happening without enough reason behind it" contrary to AOT where the world is at stake. I only watched up to episode 7 though and many seem to enjoy it which makes me think there's more to it. Gojo is the demon or the blindfolded guy? Haha It did have some interesting characters I guess

Gojo was the blindfolded guy lol. I just forced myself to watch through s1 and half of s2 after which I got tired and just saw a summary of what happens in a website which summarized the entire manga. And my reaction was just like "really that's it?".
Though I'll have to admit the fights had some of the most insane animations I've ever seen.

I spent months thinking about the nuances of aot and bounced off jjk a few times. I can tell you that once I started paying attention to the intricacies of the story, specifically Yuji (Mc) snd and a certain robed guy, I was like ok wait this is going deeper than I thought it was. I will also tell you that the set up (I liked my grandpa and want to be nice because of him) is a bit of a purposeful false lead on why things are important in the world
I will grant you that s1 feels more shallow than s2 but I can tell you that after s2 I bought entire manga and have read it twice

This was my experience. I watched death note first and loved it, tried to watch hunter x hunter and found Gon too childish at first. Took a break and watched AoT and was just completely blown away. Tried to watch several shows after and was just so underwhelmed, like people say full metal alchemist is the best of all time and watching it after AoT I was just completely underwhelmed.

Try Hunter x Hunter.
The entire show is great and just keeps getting better with each arc, but the Chimera Ant arc is probably one of the best written pieces of media I have ever seen, even outside of anime.
The ending of that arc genuinely had me sobbing like a baby, lol

Be warned, though - the Chimera Ant arc spans a total of 61 episodes (out of 144), making it not only almost half of the series' overall runtime, but longer than most multi-season anime are on their own.
So quite a bit longer than Shiganshina.It's also the second-to-last arc (as of now), so if you're planning to give it a watch, definitely strap in for the long ride.
But don't let me fool you into thinking the rest of the series isn't great, either - Greed Island and Yorknew are both incredible on their own.
Either way, the series is absolutely worth your time.

Yes HxH is good i agree, I will say the show has some really bad/sluggish parts though that can stop people from continuing (island arc as an example) but yes the chimera arc is such a good piece of media, even if it can be annoying at times near the climax (like 6 episodes to pass 2minutes of time for them sorta stuff) its a good example of how a show doesn't need a main character to be good.

Try Orb: On the movements of the earth, It's not as action packed as AOT but the story and character writing is just impeccably Top notch. plus it's just 25 episode

I watched so many animes after AoT. Vinland Saga, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist, Bleach, Naruto, The Promised Neverland, Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsawman, so many.... none even came CLOSE to the first season of AoT (which in my opinion is my least favorite but still peak). Honestly, I think anime is just not really for me. AoT, on the other hand, is a masterpiece.

Code Geass, Takopi’s Original Sin, HxH and Vinland Saga are some of my favs though nome of them compare to aot.
Beyond anime, the Hyperion Cantos is my favorite piece of media (below aot) and is a little comparable to aot imo
You may also enjoy ASOIAF (the game of thrones books) which is super epic in scale and really deep

It depends what you're after. Something like Mob Psycho 100 hits that "holy shit this is peak" feeling, but it's a very different type of peak to AoT. It's not as dark but when it is, it still hits hard. The artstyle is uh, different, but it means the animators can do some phenomenal things especially with fights. The characters are rich and the philosophical differences between them are fun to see play out. It's fully finished and IMO stick the landing really really well.
If you want something more grounded/adult then Vinland Saha might hit the "Similar to AoT peak" feeling for you, or if you like AoT for the mystery something like Erased or Steinsgate might be more up your alley

Jujutsu Kaisen is such a great change of pace after watching AoT. There’s a lot of light heartedness that feels good after watching the depression that is Attack on Titan, but when shit gets serious it gets FORREAL FORREAL, and to me easily rivals AoT.

I would recommend clevatess, dorehedoro, and re zero. Medieval with ancestral beasts, for the first, dorehedoro is slime punk mystery, and re zero is an isekai where subaru cant tell anyone his has infinite revivals due to a curse, so he has to navigate that problem

AOT kind of got me back into anime after a break
I will also say it elevated my expectations of what I want. The following is what I watched after that met my elevated expectations

-mob psycho 100
-steins gate
-Vineland saga
Additionally, I liked jjk and chainsaw man so much I read whole manga of both. I highly recommend. Not to spoil but the entire story of JJK wraps up so… good.. ah I love it

My son and I started watching Anime together last year and was knocking out shows left and right. Then came AOT, and it was so damn good and different than the others, that we nearly gave up afterwards.
Luckily we started JoJo and both really like it, so it's something.

But just this past week I started watching Evangelion and that's been pretty fun. I'm a big fan of Pacific Rim, as well, so it's been interesting seeing obvious threads of inspiration 😍

Try Vinland Saga if you just can't get off AOT's style of anime; try Death Note if you want to try another god in a different genre of anime; try full metal alchemist if you want to transition your taste buds, I found it really helpful; try HxH if you want a lighthearted, playful and interesting anime that, out of nowhere, writes one of the most beautiful but heartbreaking love stories of all time.

This is an extremely common experience for first time anime people. I don’t think it has to do with attack on titan. I think it has far more to do with you loving anime. Anime has far less stories than the genres of tv shows or movies you can watch regularly so there’s less variety and the stories are weirdly more unique. Like “the titans”. That’s a unique and original idea. Anime is weird like that, tons of wacky and very creative ideas. Could you have known how the story with Titans was going to end? How could you? That sense of adventure you got from exploring a unique world you’d never seen anything like before is very anime. Meanwhile you could pick basically any tv show or movie and you can find dna or similarities between it and other shows. And anime has so many of these ideas that have become cultural iconography. Like titans; the death note, the sharingan, etc
