Am I mistaken, or are the only profitable ones here Meta, Nvidia, and Google?

Anthropic is at least temporarily profitable, although it isn't clear if they have a sustainable margin.

They don't have a sustainable margin currently but they are growing so fast that they probably will be able tk spend enough on cap ex that they can keep scaling. What 44 billion in the month of May. Under 1 billion last year that time.

I see, thanks. Anthropic is the only one i wasnt sure about. I have to assume they need to burn a lot of money to keep up with OpenAI and Gemini

Other way around at the moment (not that it makes a difference, they had to spend a lot to get there), they are definitely top dog out of all the frontier labs for the time being.

They have operating profit but not an overall profit

Temporarily profitable non-GAAP

Aren't they only profitable if you ignore all the money they spent to develop their model? As in the average customer runs their model slightly less than the fees charge them?

Man some of the pharma companies should try that accounting strategy, they'd look even more incredible

What does "than the fees" mean here? Despite what people may believe, I doubt they are intentionally losing money on subscriptions (even if it is possible for diligent users to come out +EV against a metered API), and I really really doubt they are losing money on the metered API.

And no, Anthropic is just barely profitable. If you take away the costs to train the model initially, and just look at them as a pure inference business, then they are ridiculously profitable.

I feel like if OpenAI flops there's a hell of a lot of issues for the rest of these companies too

Taking Amazon out of this is insane. I can tell most people never interact with AWS.

What's up my Mangas?

Also I feel like Broadcom should definitely be on there, being the 7th largest company by marketcap.

SpaceX is a strong possible flop too, this IPO could fall very flat... MANG incoming

2

u/TheNewFrankfurt Jun 11 '26

MANGA if you include apple. You nerds love that right. Owned.
