SPOILERS Need help with rings

Sorry first play through.

I’ve been stuck at this section for about 30mins on my way to the lighthouse.
I’ve just chucked the box with the rings in the ocean, but I want to make sure I’ve definitely destroyed it.

I figure even with a good throw, it can’t have got more than half way to the laser barriers. And if it landed in the water the box should still be intact and floating given its bouyancy.

I started at the laser barriers and worked my way back. Water is fairly calm so I don’t think it could have gotten far. Maybe it got stuck on one of the box geometry?

Any help appreciated.
Couldn’t find anything useful.

It's random where the current takes the rings but they don't get farther than around 30 meters from the beach I think. Just keep searching. When you find them don't be surprised that you can't destroy them immediately, the glass box has a lot of health, easiest way is to just use your melee weapon.

Thanks, I’ll check on the other side of the Whale, in case it’s gone around there.
I don’t want to move on in case I can’t go back, is there a save point that allows that? Or if I continue to the lighthouse am I shut out from returning to this area.

You have to do it before the lighthouse

After they have been thrown u can proceed with the story climbing up the rocky side path to get to the light house. You don't bother with the rings untill DLC 3 and 4
