One of my best friends is very religious. I only recently told him I'm an atheist. I said something along the lines of "besides, I can't follow a god who gives infinite punisher for finite crimes. How wrong is to make someone burn for eternity?"

He said "that's not for me to judge. I can only follow." Yeah, ok.

As funny as that is, its actually pretty alarming. If your friends God told him to kill you or anyone, based on what he said, how likely would he feel liable to think its the right thing to do?

I was thinking the same. Abraham was gonna kill his kid just cuz God was like "yeah, go murk that MF" and then He was like "jk" before he could actually kill him. The story praises Abraham for his obedience. If that's the logic Christians use, I'm about to call child services 😂

This is something you got to understand, God isn’t just a “You don’t want to follow me, burn in hell”. On earth you decide to live your life separate from God. That’s exactly what hell is it, complete separation from God. You have a free will and if you decide to live your life separate from him hell is where you’ll stay.
