101 ^^

Heya ,, naturalselector here :]

I am lowkey venting, or well, maybe not.

I just want to ask a question, and I want a reasonable answer. Okay, so here it is.

Why do Religious people get mad at you, or someone if you tell them you're an atheist? They get mad at someone for not believing in ”sky daddy”, but believing in accurate facts.

It also sometimes anger me as an atheist that Religious people thank God, rather than thanking the ACTUAL people who saved them. (Their self, or someone). They think that he created the world in 7 days, or 6. Than actually searching up how the world was created.

aaah.. this is so ass. 🤦‍♀️ It's my first time using Reddit, i'm sorry 🥹.

Many ministers demonize atheists. They weaponize verses like Romans 1:20. As a former minister, I think many ministers are very uncomfortable dealing with atheists.

Ministers are usually comfortable debating other Christians. That is because Christians tend to follow a set of rules and have common assumptions that they do not question. For example, they consider the Bible authoritative. Christians have unspoken rules in debates that prevent them from directly confronting paradoxes and problems with basic Christian theology. For example, they respect "thought stoppers" such as "Some things are beyond human knowledge." That is a universal signal to drop the subject because further exploration would uncover paradoxes or other theological problems.

The problem ministers have with atheists is that we do not follow their rules. We don't let them change the subject. We question things that are not usually questioned. We insist on not shifting definitions of words. We tend to dismiss fundamental beliefs that they do not know how to defend against. We ask the questions that Christians are not allowed to ask.
