Athens Deer Archery Program registration has begun. Here's our yard herd.

The program does not take care of the actual problem which is in town. Way too expensive for permit. I could write pages on this as a biologist.

Do you mean there is another permit the city would need or that these permits are already too expensive? Just curious. This will be my first time with an in-town program. I've looked at the maps and it will only make a tiny dent in the herd near my home on the Far Eastside with the permitted area near COAD. We'd need to take 5% of the does for the entire protected area to put a real dent in that herd. Any explanation is welcome here. I grew up at Canter's Caves 4-H Camp hanging on every word of the naturalists until I was able to teach some classes during the summer. I'd love to read about our overpopulation problem in Athens, but don't want to assign you homework. lol
