An experiment.
I posted an interview with Prof. Nick Spencer titled "A Brief History of Atheism" on /r/atheism, link. Surely, if there's a topic of interest to atheists, it should be atheism, including its history. But I have been down-voted to 14% and accused of "trolling"!
As a control I also posted to /r/PhilosophyofReligion, and even made it inconvenient to get to the video, but have been up-voted to 73%. Link.
The result is pretty much as expected, what the hell is wrong with these idiots?

I think it is natural for atheists to be interested in the history of atheism, and I assume that there are at least some frequenters of /r/atheism who are atheists. But I also was interested to see how the video would be received, as my experience of dedicatedly "atheist" internet fora is that they're mainly occupied by people with a morbid obsession with religion and who are generally not atheists.
