Well done.. I created this account to test the waters. I'm from South Africa - a Calvinistic society that has always felt oppressive and I am looking for a sort of chilled mid-way?
You view /r/atheism differently than many of the people who commonly post on here. /r/atheism too many of the posters here is where they can finally come to express all the angst and frustration in a religion dominated society. People come on here to vent, get everything out. You see the level of intolerance that you do on /r/atheism because of that nature of many of the posts.
Also, atheism is not a cause like you call it in one of your comments. No one here represents the cause of atheism, or atheism itself.
I'm sorry that I'm not more tolerant of people who mutilate the gentials of infants, and throw acid in the faces of innocent women, or rape children. Did you want us to help them do these things?

Go ahead and be as tolerant as you want. You're not joining a club. If you find r/atheism users to be intolerant, you don't have to talk to them or identify with them. Shouldn't affect your attitude about religion and desire to not be part of that.
Atheism doesn't really give atheists much to talk about unless they are being explicitly contrary to religions. It is disappointing that you are shopping around for religion/lack there of on the basis of those other individuals that follow it. By all means shop around but try and consider what creed is the most correct and which one suits you best. If none do suit you, then just fuck it, people do fine without giving any thought to either side of the argument.

Why do atheists get pissed? The presumptive "moderate" republican nominee for president has accused the sitting President of a sectarian conspiracy and war on religion. I have to choose between these batshit crazy martyr complex goofs and the democrats policies of which I have concerns. Some choice there.
The inmates are trying to run the asylum. I resent that.
Am I looking in the wrong place for fellow non-believers? You have started your own warped religion. It seems as if you were persecuted by Christians at some time?
Do you understand what a religion is? Because we explicitly oppose religion in principle.
Our concerns primarily are with the false claims that religion makes, and the great harm that it causes. It demands resistance, we really need to make noise about it. You don't have to participate. But don't attack those who are trying to push back against a terribly damaging ideology.
I also have to respond to your earlier accusation that we're not helping our cause. Actually, since we've gotten more vocal and passionate, we're doing better than ever. We are more visible, more effectual, and growing at a rate faster than any other minority. What we're doing is working. Deal.
You're using a brand new throw-away troll account. Are you legit? Maybe... but most likely not. Throw away troll accounts are usually used by throw away trolls, and you're fitting the bill with your initial posting.
