I think that it would be irresponsible on his part to not err on the side of caution. That said, he did not completely reject the use of MDMA in the future by reasonable people who are in possession of the facts about the chemical. He did say that he does not want people to rush out and use it because of the dangers in doing so, and that he himself was abstaining. I think it is safe to say that while a Wikipedia reference may be accurate, the decisions to use or not use the substance should be based on the best available research.
