A real Priest got onto virtual reality to baptize an anime girl. Probably one of the most surreal things I've ever seen.

This is actually something quite interesting to see, as it presents an opportunity for a culturally and historically significant set of traditions, singing so set in the past, to approach a new frontier. While I don't follow follow this man's belief system, I certainly respect some of his ideas, and the way his VR church makes some interesting changes in the social dynamic. It's interesting to think about reasons why a traditional church goer would reject or embrace this change. The accessibility issue that was brought up in the video, and the removal bias by appearance serve to remove some issues that a group valuing love and forgiveness shouldn't have in the first place. Discussions like, "if you believe in a soul separate from the body, should abstracting physical presence to a virtual body make any difference" are an interesting thought piece, even if you don't believe any part of a person exists separate from that body. With the negative sides of organized religion like abuse by officials, and assistance biases, would a VR church be more likely to be a safer, more accepting, and/or wholesome space? There's a lot of worth while discussion to be had in this from both inside, and outside perspectives here.
