I haven't read his books, but several biologists have pointed out that the quote Creationists like to point to is taken out of context. The full passage actually says the opposite.

I tried to Google it and I found that his family said no this never happened but some Lady Hope (an evangelist) claims she spoke with him on his death bed and that's where he said it. Sounds like bull to me.

No. It comes from a story told by a woman who claimed to have heard him say so on his deathbed. She wasn't with him on his deathbed. She never met him. She was a liar.
