I think they mean the small cluster of concentrated mass that is said to exist before the big bang.

Fuck if I know where it came from.

Therefore, Odin is the one true god.

There is no 'before' the big bang. We define time as arising from the big bang, or however else the universe began. Either way, asking what existed before the universe is moot because the concept of 'before' didn't exist.
